US women’s soccer legend Ali Krieger has finally gone public with her new girlfriend after revealing over the summer that she has found love again.
Krieger, who split from ex-wife Ashlyn Harris in 2023, opened up on her romance with a ‘wonderful person’ almost one year after divorcing the former USWNT goalkeeper in acrimonious circumstances.
According to her Instagram story, the 40-year-old has moved on from Harris with another soccer player in former Arsenal star Jen Beattie.
Beattie, who earned 143 caps for Scotland before retiring from international soccer just under two years ago, shared a photo of her and Krieger laughing while enjoying some red wine and wrote: ‘Thankful for you.’
She then added: ‘Happy Thanksgiving my love.’
Krieger uploaded the post on her own story and said: ‘You have no idea..’ along with a few red heart emojis.
Beattie is currently playing in the NWSL with Bay FC after leaving Arsenal and moving to San Francisco earlier this year.
The defender was also newly single when she met Krieger after splitting from Love Island UK star Amber Gill in December 2023.
Krieger, who joined ESPN as an analyst after retiring from soccer in March, saw her four-year marriage with Harris come to an end in September 2023.
The former USWNT teammates were together for 13 years and share a daughter, Sloan, and a son, Ocean.
Harris filed for divorce from Krieger in Seminole County, Florida on September 19, 2023. According to documents obtained by US, she described their marriage as ‘irretrievably broken.’
In an interview with Self Magazine in January, Krieger shared how she found out that Harris filed for divorce while training with her former team, NY/NJ Gotham FC.
‘I found out at training,’ Krieger said. ‘I was on the field. And I came off the field, in the locker room, and I was obviously devastated.’
‘My entire team came over for a dance party the night the news broke,’ she added.
‘Then my teammates just started walking through the door,’ Krieger revealed after canceling a press conference and heading home.
‘All of them. At different times. Until 2 in the morning, we were there, just hanging out, dancing, putting music on YouTube. We were sitting in the playroom, in my kitchen. We were dancing and hanging out, and they were all bringing wine and flowers, and just themselves.’
In December of last year, Krieger separately filed for their divorce in New Jersey, where they resided after marrying in Florida. She cited irreconcilable differences as the paperwork states there is ‘no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.’
Krieger also requested the court to divide their assets and liabilities equally and Harris pay her child support and legal fees.
