Anti-aging guru Bryan Johnson reveals he had all the plasma removed from his body

If it’s what is on the inside that counts then Bryan Johnson rates himself a perfect specimen.

The 47-year-old biohacker has claimed to have removed all the toxins from his plasma – even without the use of his ‘blood boy’ – declaring his plasma ‘liquid gold.’

Johnson, who has become infamous for his multi-million dollar quest to reverse his age, recently underwent a total plasma exchange (TPE), in an effort to remove the ‘unnatural pollutants’ in his body.

In the exchange, all of his plasma was removed and replaced with Albumin, which is the most prominent circulating protein found in plasma.

‘The therapy objectives are to remove toxins from my body,’ the California-based entrepreneur wrote in a post to X, formally known as Twitter.

The 47-year-old biohacker has claimed to have removed all the toxins from his plasma - even without the use of his 'blood boy' - declaring his plasma 'liquid gold.'

According to the National Institutes of Health, TPE is a procedure in which the patient’s blood is passed through an apheresis machine, and the filtered plasma is removed and discarded with reinfusion of red blood cells, along with replacement fluid such as plasma or albumin in to the patient.

Johnson, who caused a stir when he exchanged blood with his teenage son and elderly father last year, claims the ‘evidence is emergent.’

‘Others use TPE for autoimmune disorders, blood disorders, neurological conditions, transplant-related complications, and replacement of missing plasma components,’ he explained.

According to the millionaire, the TPE operator told him his plasma is the ‘cleanest’ he’s ever seen.

‘As we normally do, we completed a bunch of baseline measurements before this therapy including toxins but other things too such as speed of aging, organ ages, microplastics and many other biomarkers. I’ll do six total treatments,’ he shared.

‘The operator, who’s been doing TPE for nine years, said my plasma is the cleanest he’s ever seen. By far. He couldn’t get over it,’ he bragged.

After the plasma exchange – which took around two hours to complete – he stated the operator ‘couldn’t bring’ himself to throw his plasma away.

‘He was imagining all the good that it could do in the world. On people’s face as PRP therapy. In their body, rejuvenating organs,’ he listed.

Johnson then said there is ‘probably’ a path to auction off or donate his plasma on this next go around, calling it ‘liquid gold.’

He then referenced his infamous blood exchange, claiming when his father received 1L of his plasma, his speed of aging dropped by 25 years and stayed that way for six months.

‘We don’t know if it was from my super plasma or if it was from removing his plasma, but the results are interesting nonetheless,’ he noted.

In comments on the post, Johnson wrote that plasma exchanges can remove ‘unnatural pollutants which our body including liver, kidney and immune system is not capable to remove including microplastics, and other such POPs (persistent organic pollutants).’

According to Dr Mena Mirhom, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center, seeking alternative medical trends could indicate a different problem.

‘When we find ourselves chasing an experimental medical trend that is not scientifically proven, it can be a good opportunity to pause and consider the risks and benefits and if there is an underlying issue we are masking such as body dysmorphic disorder,’ he explained to the DailyMail.com.

‘Medically, it is not recommended for an already healthy person,’ he continued. ‘This is because there are certainly risks of side effects.’

Earlier in the year, the tech mogul claimed he now only celebrates his birthday every 19 months – successfully dialing back the clock on aging in his quest for eternal youth.

In a video posted to YouTube, Johnson claimed he has reduced his anti-aging process by a rate of 0.64, which he says is his ‘personal best.’

‘That roughly means that for every 12 months that pass I only age for 7.6 months now,’ the entrepreneur, who claims to have turned back the clocks by five years, boasted.

According to the biohacker, an important part of his reducing his age is to do with his diet, which he and his team have coined the Blueprint diet.
