Fed-up skiers at a popular Japanese resort have been forced to climb up steep slopes because of how long the queues for the chairlift are.
Furious winter sports enthusiasts were seen slowly making their way up a steep slope at the Rusutsu ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan, in front for an enormous queue for the chairlift.
They were seen using a range of techniques to make it up the slope.
One person was seen using their skis as makeshift ski poles, plunging them into deep snow to get traction on their way up.
Others were seen wedging their snowboards into the ground in front of them, and using them to leverage themselves further up the slope.
Many were also seen tumbling down the slope, as more patient skiers who decided to brave the queues were gently brought up the mountain on the chairlift.
Separate footage taken by someone on the slope itself showed dozens of people breathlessly climbing up the slope in the hopes of an earlier session down the mountain.
The videos were shared as Japan was blasted by a cold front that is expected to last for several days.
Coincidentally, the cold front came as Sapporo, a city in the Hokkadio region of Japan, celebrated an annual snow festival, where an estimated two million tourists visit to engage large-scale snow art, illuminated displays, and a variety of winter activities.
