Human rights campaigners have launched another bid to block Shein’s possible £50billion London listing.
Stop Uyghur Genocide (SUG) has threatened the City watchdog with court action amid allegations about forced labour in the Chinese fast fashion giant’s supply chain.
The advocacy group argues the Financial Conduct Authority should block Shein’s plans to list in the UK due to claims it has benefited from the ‘proceeds of crime’.
There are concerns its cut-price T-shirts and dresses are made by Uyghur Muslims in labour camps in the Chinese province of Xinjiang.
Horrifying reports have included allegations of torture. Beijing denies all claims. Shein insists it has a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to forced labour.
