Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz are STILL collaborating on a new project despite breakup

They shocked fans by splitting up just a year after they got engaged.

But Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz still have plans to work together in the future.

The 44-year-old Magic Mike star and the 35-year-old Batman actress may have ended their romantic relationship, but they’ll be continuing their professional relationship into 2025 when they star together in a new film.

The two have joined an all-star cast to appear in the alien-invasion comedy Alpha Gang, according to Deadline, which will also feature Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Lea Seydoux, Riley Keough and the previously announced Cate Blanchett, who is also a producer on the project.

The film is set ‘in a heightened reality’ and tells the story of a group of alien invaders who disguise themselves as a 1950s-era biker gang on a mission to conquer Earth.

However, their invasion plans go awry when they catch humanity’s most contagious condition — emotions.

The picture will be directed by sibling filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner, and is set to be distributed to international buyers at the American Film Market in Las Vegas next week.

Blanchett and Coco Francini will serve as producers on the movie for their Dirty Films banner.

The pair said in a joint statement: ‘The Zellner brother’s work never fails to surprise and delight us.

‘In Alpha Gang, they have created a far-out world in order to lampoon something much closer to home: The hilarious, absurd, and peculiar truth of the human condition.’

It’s currently unclear who Channing or Zoë will be playing, or if they’ll even share any scenes together.

However, viewers will likely be curious to see their on-screen dynamic after ending their romance under such shocking circumstances.

Their costar Bautista recently stepped up to play the lead role in The Killer’s Game, he admits he had reservations about taking top billing in the action comedy flick.

The wrestler-turned-actor told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘It was nerve-wracking for me; I’m hoping people receive it well, still a little self-conscious about it. It was a challenge that I wanted, I accepted.

‘It was a couple of years ago where I said to myself I need to stop taking so many supporting roles, and I need to seek out lead roles, even if I have to create lead roles for myself,’ he continued.

Alpha Gang will also star Dave Bautista (pictured September 9 in LA), Steven Yeun, Lea Seydoux and Riley Keough

Channing reposted an article about their upcoming film before the breakup news, but he didn't include any text of his own; seen in August in London

‘I heard Mahershala Ali years ago saying that’s what he did; he said look, he had to start turning down supporting roles if he ever wanted to be a lead,’ said the 55-year-old Glass Onion star.

‘And I do want to be a lead, that’s the way you progress in this business, and you don’t grow if you’re constantly taking supporting roles,’ he added. ‘You’re not going to become a bigger star, and my whole goal is to become a bigger star.’

Alpha Gang had a surprising connection to Channing and Zoë’s breakup, as it appears to be the subject of the final Instagram post the Logan Lucky actor made referencing his former fiancée before news of their split became public

He reposted a Deadline article revealing that he and his Zoë were joining the cast of the the cast of the upcoming comedy, though he made no allusion to reports of his breakup and added no text of his own.

The exes had previously worked on Zoë’s feature directorial debut Blink Twice, which Channing starred in as a charming but sinister billionaire

Fans were shocked after the two were reported to have gone their separate ways, as they didn’t appear to be telegraphing the split.

Although the former lovebirds hadn’t appeared together on social media in recent weeks, Channing’s most recent Instagram post featuring Zoë, which was posted in early September, appeared to show the two in the midst of a romantic bliss.

After multiple sources told People that the two had split a year after getting engaged, the focus turned to one of Channing’s last public displays of affection for the Big Little Lies star.

In his Instagram post from September 3, the Magic Mike actor showed off his impressive physique in a shirtless selfie.

After their split became public, a final social media post of the two together came under scrutiny. In a September 3 photo, Channing posed shirtless while Zoë snoozed on his chest

He displayed a soft grin for the camera while Zoë appeared to snooze peacefully as she rested her head against his chiseled abs.

The photo appeared to date back to the filming of Blink Twice, as Channing wore the same well-maintained beard that his character sports in the thriller.

Zoë also had her hair styled in what appeared to be the same thin braids that she was pictured with in behind-the-scenes photos.

Production on Blink Twice reportedly began in June of 2022, months after the director and her star had gone public with their romance.

In his caption, the Deadpool & Wolverine actor serenaded his love as he promoted her film with an

‘This little sweet. She So tired bro. Every time I wondered if she’d break…. She just kept going and going and going,’ he gushed. ‘Always on the dig for truth. She pour’d every single ounce of her into this film. I’m so proud to stand ten toes down for her, this film and everyone in it. forever. Knowing what it took to make it. No one will ever know.’

He concluded on a sweet note, adding, ‘Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all. I’ll never blink. Let’s go.’

While Channing’s selfie was their last social media post together, he did make one final post that tangentially involved Zoë shortly before news of their split broke.

The photo appeared to have been taken during the shooting of Blink Twice, based on his beard and her hairstyle. He included a loving message in his caption; seen in March in LA

Earlier on Tuesday, Channing reposted a Deadline article revealing that he and his ex-fiancée were joining the cast of the the cast of the upcoming alien invasion comedy Alpha Gang, though he made no allusion to reports of his breakup and added no text of his own.

Cate Blanchett had already been announced as a star and producer on the film, which is directed by the Zellner brothers, but Channing and Zoë are now rounding out the cast, along with Dave Bautista, Riley Keough, Steven Yeun and French star Léa Seydoux.

The comedy follows a group of invading aliens disguised as humans and dressed up to look like members of a 1950s-era biker gang, though their attempts to conquer the planet are threatened when they start to develop human emotions and consciences.

Earlier in August, Channing couldn’t help but gush about his relationship with Zoë during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

After the host mentioned that his fiancée had directed Blink Twice, Channing raved that ‘no one would ever know’ that it was her first time behind the camera on a feature film.

He explained that her debut was so assured because ‘she’s such a nerd for movies. Like she doesn’t do anything [else].’

Channing joked that Zoë gave him a speech early in their relationship in which she said that she ‘doesn’t do any activities,’ such as the celebrity favorite ‘hiking.’

Instead, a typical day off for them involves watching ‘three or four movies,’ which was how she honed her directorial vision.

The former A-list couple’s last in-person sighting appears to have been earlier this month, on October 6, when they were seen on a date night at a production of the play Picture Day at Coffey Street Studio in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood.

The two were there in support of her Blink Twice actor Levon Hawke, who was making his directorial debut with the show.

At the time, a source told People that the couple looked ‘cozy and cute together’ while hanging out with Levon and his sister, Stranger Things star Maya Hawke, before heading to a bar to party with the cast and crew.

‘Channing and Zoë held hands and looked very comfortable together and settled into their relationship,’ the source said. ‘They were affectionate but no overboard PDA or anything. They were so cool and chill. They were blown away by how intellectual the play was.’

Although Zoë displayed her engagement ring at the production, it was a different story in recent weeks.

Last week, she reunited for a night out in New York City with her Big Little Lies costar Shailene Woodley, but her engagement ring appeared to be missing during the outing.

Prior to kicking off their relationship three years ago, Zoë was coming off a divorce from her first husband, the actor Karl Glusman, while Channing had only recently finalized his divorce from Jenna Dewan.

The former couple share an 11-year-old daughter, Everly.

The split was a particular shock for the couple, as they had not only gotten engaged, but Channing had been spotted with fresh ink of Zoë's initials on the back of his hand in September; pictured in London in August

Romance rumors boiled over when they were seen leaving the Met Gala together in Manhattan in September 2021 (pictured)

They went Instagram official on Halloween 2021 with matching costumes from Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver

Channing and Zoë first set off romance rumors in August of 2021, when he was seen riding around in NYC on a bike while she joined him on foot.

The rumors reached a fever pitch in September of that year, when the two were seen leaving the Met Gala in Manhattan together, though they did not walk the red carpet together earlier in the evening.

By Halloween, the two had gone official with their romance.

They opted for playful matching costumes inspired by Martin Scorsese’s classic film Taxi Driver to cement their relationship status, with Channing dressed as Robert De Niro’s character, while Zoë was a dead ringer for Jodie Foster’s abused child prostitute.
