Chelsea defender Caleb Wiley will join Championship side Watford until the end of the season.
The American has been on loan at the Blues’ sister club Strasbourg for the first half of the campaign, where he has made just six appearances.
Wiley’s gametime has been hampered by the shoulder injury he suffered in November. The left-back is now set to join a Hornets side that have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions.
Prior to joining Chelsea, Wiley came through the ranks at MLS side Atalanta United and made more than 75 appearances for the club.
The defender made his professional debut at the age of 17 before being snapped up by Chelsea in a deal worth £8.5million last summer.
Wiley’s departure from Strasbourg would allow the Blues to send another of their promising youngsters to the club.
Additionally, striker David Datro Fofana’s loan at Goztepe has been ended early. The 22-year-old scored twice in nine league matches for the Turkish side but he has missed the last six games with a knee injury.
Goztepe had an option to sign Fofana permanently after a season-long loan but the Ivorian will now return to Stamford Bridge.
Fofana has also had loan spells with Union Berlin and Burnley. He has made four appearances for Chelsea but isn’t part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.
