A Chemist Warehouse employee has excited shoppers by announcing a $12.97 item that’s a ‘dupe’ of a hugely popular $40 beauty buy.
Retail manager Jess, from Melbourne, broke the news about Rimmel’s new Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up Lip Butter arriving in stores.
The purse-friendly tubes, typically priced at $25.95 each but currently on sale for half price, have been compared to Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm ($40 each) and Hailey Bieber‘s Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment.
The Chemist Warehouse’s lip balms come in six different shades: Vanilla Frost, Bubble Gum, Coral Breeze, Red Velvet, Latte Delight and Mellow Mocha.
The super hydrating formula is promoted as providing an ‘ultra glossy, sheer tint’ that leaves lips ‘silky-soft, nourished and replenished’.
‘These new lip butters have shot to the top of my favourite lip product at the moment,’ the Chemist Warehouse employee said in her video.
‘They are what they say they are, they are super buttery on the lips. They all come in a sweet vanilla, cake-like scent… I can’t stop reaching for them.
‘They are so good. Highly recommend. They’re giving Rhode and Summer Fridays.’
Jess said her favourite go-to shade is the Mellow Mocha.
Many shoppers shared they were keen to give the product a go, with one saying: ‘Dying to try this’, to which Jess replied: ‘You will NOT regret it.’
‘Love these. Mocha is beautiful. Bought that one today after watching your video. Absolutely love it,’ one revealed.

The lip balms have received more than 400 glowing reviews on the retailer’s website and boast an average rating of 4.8 stars out of 5.
