Complicit: NYC Won’t Hand Over Illegal Immigrant Pervert Accused of Robbing Prosecutor

We’ve unfortunately gotten used to stories about criminal-loving progressives who seem to view offenders as victims and the actual victims of their crimes as an inconvenience. We’ve also seen how they not only tolerate but actively push for illegal immigration.

Even so, some stories still make you shake your head and think, “Are you freaking serious?”

Such is the case with the story of Brandon Jesus Simoza Seijas, an illegal Venezuelan immigrant living at a NYC hotel on the taxpayers’ dime who recently robbed a prosecutor from soft-on-crime, Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office and masturbated in the hallway of her apartment building.

When he was arrested, he grinned for the cameras and basically had an attitude of, “screw you, you ain’t doing nothing to me.”

Well, the arrogant perp is proven to be correct. In an astonishing act of injustice, Big Apple officials are refusing to hand over the pervert to ICE.

The Rikers Custody Management Unit said it will not be honoring a detainer request for Brandon Jesus Simoza Seijas, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation. Simoza, a Venezuelan national who has been repeatedly arrested by police this year, has remained in New York Department of Corrections custody at Rikers Island since he allegedly attacked an assistant prosecutor for District Attorney Alvin Bragg several days ago.

Simosa was staying at the Row NYC hotel, funded by taxpayers’ money.

As we see with so many of these stories, the suspect was once in custody but was set free to wreak havoc on our communities. This is the true Biden-Harris legacy and will be felt for years to come.

“Brandon Jesus Simoza Seijas is an unlawfully present citizen of Venezuela who entered the United States without admission, inspection or parole by an immigration official,” an ICE spokesperson stated Monday to the DCNF. “U.S. Border Patrol encountered Simoza Oct. 18, 2023 in Del Rio, Texas, issued him a notice to appear and released him on his own recognizance.”

Simoza allegedly followed a 38-year-old female victim inside her apartment building on Nov. 17 around 2 a.m. and requested cash, according to a New York Police Department (NYPD) statement provided to the DCNF. Simoza then allegedly snatched the woman’s bank cards and cellphone, and performed a “lewd act” in front of her before fleeing the scene.

This is hardly his first encounter with the law—he has five previous arrests in New York City. It’s hard not to come away with the feeling that progressive officials in New York want it to be this way. For reasons beyond my capacity to understand, they want New Yorkers to live in fear. If that weren’t true, they would behave differently.

Even Democrat Mayor Eric Adams admits things have to change:

ICE’s statements marks the latest clash between the agency and New York City officials, despite growing calls from local law enforcement, lawmakers and even New York City Mayor Eric Adams to amend the city’s sanctuary laws to allow for more cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

“I think the previous administration made a big mistake,” Adams said in July, referring to sanctuary policies enacted by former Mayor Bill de Blasio. “I think we need to correct that aspect of it.”

“New Yorkers have a right to be safe in their city,” Adams continued. “The same way anyone breaks the law or does something violent to New Yorkers, I’m going to voice my concern about that.”
