Cristiano Ronaldo scored career goals number 912 and 913 as he guided Al-Nassr to a confident 3-1 victory over Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League Elite in Qatar on Monday.
The Saudi champions are nearer to the last eight and now need just two points from their last three group games.
The Al-Nassr captain missed multiple opportunities in the first half at Al-Bayt Stadium but opened his account on the day just 50 seconds after the second-half whistle blew.
He headed home from close range after a pinpoint cross from Sultan Al Ghannam, then secured his brace in the 64th minute.
The goal took football’s all-time top scorer to four goals in this season’s competition, before he was substituted 10 minutes later.
With the win, Al-Nassr continue their unbeaten record in their first five matches in the Western side of the competition, and move up to second in the 12-team table.
The victory comes after Cristiano Ronaldo was left livid on Saturday, as Al-Nassr lost 2-1 at home to Al-Qadsiahfell and fell six points behind Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League title race.
Last season Al-Nassr finished second-place in the table, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal.
In total, Ronaldo has scored 71 goals in 81 appearances for Al-Nassr since his arrival at the club in January 2023 but has only managed to win just one trophy in his time in Saudi Arabai – the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
The Portuguese striker has scored seven goals and contributed two assists in 10 league games this campaign, as he strives for domestic glory in what is expected to be one of his last seasons as a professional.
