Democrats Left With Egg All Over Their Faces After Trying to Dunk on Trump Over Colombia Drama

Colombia refused two repatriation flights of illegal immigrants on Sunday, setting into motion one of the most savage actions by a U.S. president in recent memory.

In what he thought was a power move, President Gustavo Petro told President Donald Trump that he would not allow any more of his citizens to be returned until a protocol for the “dignified treatment” of “migrants” was established. Trump didn’t flinch, immediately announcing escalating tariffs and a complete shutdown of visas for those traveling from Colombia, including government officials.

With that promise of retaliation made, left-wingers immediately set to claim the results would be catastrophic. There would be no flowers for Valentine’s Day! Coffee prices would explode!

Imagine thinking that’s a persuasive argument. Let’s say what she said was true (it’s not really, given that we do not get “most” of our flowers from Colombia). No normal person would say, “We can’t deport violent illegal aliens because we might have to source our roses from somewhere else.” That’s something only a bubble-dweller who is paid to mouth off on television would ever suggest.

She wasn’t alone. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rick Wilson, and Harry Sisson also got in on the action.

Others made similar posts, but you get the point. Democrats lined up to wag their finger, insisting that Trump absolutely could not play hardball with a third-world nation. You see, left-wing doctrine dictates that America is the oppressor and thus must operate in a subservient role in any diplomatic exercise. That’s exactly what Joe Biden did for four years, sending the United States to the back of the bus internationally while we got pushed around by Yemeni pirates and the drug cartels.

Interestingly enough, though, when you have a president willing to use America’s power, we can just do things. It’s not any more complicated than that.

Sure enough, within one hour of Trump’s promise to crush Colombia via tariffs and a visa freeze, the South American nation’s president bent the knee. Not only did he agree to allow the return of his citizens who had crossed into the United States illegally, but he offered to send his presidential airplane to transport them.

And with that, Trump sent a message that will reverberate across the globe. America is back, and it will not be bullied by other nations. Colombia has far more to lose in a trade war than the United States. The same is true for every country that has turned a blind eye to its citizens traveling north to break American immigration laws.

Did any of the above-referenced Democrats update their posts? Of course, they didn’t. They were thoroughly embarrassed, with their beta style of governance being completely repudiated. There’s a new captain in town, and the way things were is not how they will be.
