Liberal former CNN anchor Don Lemon revealed that he is leaving Elon Musk’s social platform, X, due to the new terms of service, which mandates all legal disputes to be heard in Texas.

Lemon made a grandiose exit from Musk’s social platform, posting a video titled “Here’s why I’m leaving Twitter…” as well as a statement plugging his handle on other social platforms that he will be migrating to.

“I’ve loved connecting with all of you on X, but it’s time for me to leave the platform,” Lemon’s statement began. “I once believed it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech, but I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”

Social media users roasted Lemon in the comments for his egotistical exit announcement.

“I love that you think you will be missed,” one user responded.

“I’ll summarize your statement for you: ‘I don’t like free speech so I’m outta here.’” another user added.

Another user argued that Lemon was leaving X because it “no longer censors. I cannot compete in the arena of ideas, therefore, I am leaving. MSM creating their own extinction: that was easy.”

Lemon’s statement continued, further explaining that X’s “new terms of service” was the real reason behind his departure.

“As the Washington Post recently reported on X’s decision to change the terms this ‘ensures that such lawsuits will be heard in courthouses that are a hub for conservatives, which experts say could make it easier for X to shield itself from litigation and punish critics.’ I think that speaks for itself,” Lemon’s statement continued.

X’s new terms of service requires all lawsuits to be filed in court in the Northern District of Texas, of which 10 out of 11 active judges were appointed by a Republican president.

Musk and Lemon have also had a rocky relationship following Lemon’s firing from CNN, which prompted him to attempt to create his own show on X.

Musk previously sat down for an interview with Lemon for the former CNN anchor’s premiere episode, but it was swiftly canceled after Lemon reportedly demanded a free Cybertruck, a $5 million advance on top of an $8 million salary, as well as equity in the company; all in exchange for hosting his show on X.

In response to Musk canceling the show, Lemon sued X, claiming that the media giant “defrauded him” because he “incurred hundreds of thousands of dollars in expenses.” However, Musk argued that there was never a contract in place, and requested that the federal judges dismiss the lawsuit.

Musk previously stated that he decided to cancel Lemon’s show because it “lacked authenticity,” and was essentially “CNN, but on social media, which doesn’t work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying.”
