Elizabeth Hurley and son Damian to celebrate Cup Week at Flemington as Shane Warne’s ex prepares to visit Australia for first time in 11 years

UK actress Elizabeth Hurley and her son Damian will lead the A-listers at this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The glamorous pair will be trackside at Flemington over two days as guests of the Victoria Racing Club.

This is the first time Elizabeth, 59, has returned to Australia in 11 years, after being last sighted Down Under with her then-fiancé Shane Warne at the 2013 Australian Open tennis.

The Austin Powers actress and her 22-year-old model son are set to enjoy Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day from the famous Birdcage Enclosure.

The pair will also be announcing the best suited and best dressed for the Fashions on the Field in the Park competition.

‘Damian and I are thrilled to be coming to Australia to celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the Victoria Racing Club,’ Elizabeth said in a statement.

‘Watched by millions across the globe, we are looking forward to being at Flemington to experience the event first-hand and hopefully find a winner along the way,’ she continued.

‘We are also very much looking forward to all the fashion and entertainment that makes this carnival truly unique.’

Elizabeth had hearts racing when she was last seen at Flemington with Warne back in 2011.

And last month son Damian shared a heartwarming tribute to Warne, to mark what would have been the late cricketer’s 55th birthday.

The dashing filmmaker and fashionista posted a gallery of throwback photos to Instagram which captured ‘family time’ between the mother and son and the sports legend.

One precious photo showed Shane posing with a young Damian.

Another captured Damian and his mother relaxing outside with Shane and his son Jackson.

The sweet pictures showcase the strong bond Shane shared with the youngster, during the three years Shane dated his mother Elizabeth from 2010 to 2013.

Damian was born in 2002 to Elizabeth and her late ex-boyfriend, American multi-millionaire businessman Steve Bing, who died in 2020.

He captioned the pictures: ‘Happy heavenly birthday SW. We miss you every day.’

Many of his famous friends and family were quick to comment on the post, including his mother and Shane’s son Jackson, 25, both of whom posted love heart emojis.

The British actress and model began dating the late cricketer in 2010 before getting engaged a year later and ultimately splitting for good in 2013.

Shane branded his romance with the famed beauty as being the ‘happiest time of his life’ and was upset that things didn’t work out.

Fans will doubtless expect a reunion between the Hurley’s and Shane’s children Brooke, 27, Jackson, 25, and Summer, 22.

The king of spin tragically died of a heart attack at the age of 52 on March 4, 2022, while staying at a luxury villa on the Thailand holiday island of Koh Samui.

Hurley recently starred in her son Damian’s directorial debut Strictly Confidential, in which his mother gets steamy with another woman.

She explained that her son’s filmmaking began in childhood and Warne and his kids appeared in many of his early films.

Melbourne Cup Carnival 2024 takes place at Flemington between November 2-9, beginning with Victoria Derby Day.

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, meanwhile takes place on November 5, with the Crown Oaks Day on November 7 and finally the TAB Champions Stakes Day on November 9.
