Heck Yeah: Daniel Penny’s Next Move Is Announced – With a Little Help From VP-Elect JD Vance

After the May 2023 subway incident involving mentally ill homeless man Jordan Neely being put into a submission hold by fellow passenger Daniel Penny after Neely reportedly acted threateningly towards other riders, Penny’s life was made a living hell by woke Big Apple prosecutors along with media/outrage mobs.

Democrat politicians like Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accused the Marine Corps. veteran of “murder.” Her fellow Squad member, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), tweeted that Neely was “lynched on the subway,” accusations of which helped stoke mobs of protesters who disrupted city streets and the subway system in the aftermath.

At Neely’s funeral and after posing next to the hearse and casket, race hustler Al Sharpton proclaimed without evidence that Neely was “not annoying someone on the train” and criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for calling Penny a Good Samaritan.

And a month and a half after Neely was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Penny with second-degree manslaughter and negligent homicide.

Needless to say, Penny is eager to get on with his life after being found not guilty Monday by the jury in his case. He started Tuesday with a Fox News interview, which revealed much more about his humble character.

But on Friday, things got even better when it was revealed that Vice President-Elect JD Vance, who is also a veteran of the Marine Corps, had invited him to be his “personal guest” at the Army-Navy game Saturday – an invitation Penny accepted:

Vice President-elect JD Vance confirmed Friday that he invited Daniel Penny, a Marine veteran recently acquitted of a negligent homicide charge in New York City, to be his guest at the Army-Navy college football game over the weekend.

“Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone,” Vance wrote in a post on the social platform X, replying to a reporter from NOTUS, which first reported on the invitation.

“I’m grateful he accepted my invitation and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage,” he added.

Beyond this, it’s unclear what the future holds for Penny. According to his mother, this is what Penny did after leaving the Marines and before the subway incident:

His mother said he was pursuing a degree in architecture from the New York City College of Technology and planned to later transfer. He was living at an apartment in the East Village, teaching swim lessons at a gym and working at a restaurant in Brooklyn.

Whatever he decides to do with his life, here’s hoping that between the acquittal, the way he’s handled himself, and the praise/endorsements he’s getting from Vance and others will help him be able to successfully put all of this behind him.

Relatedly, Penny’s defense attorneys have said they’re considering possible lawsuits against Bragg and others for what they call “malicious prosecution,” something that would be highly interesting to watch if they decide to go forward with it.

As always, stay tuned
