Jackie ‘O’ Henderson reveals her co-host Kyle Sandilands’ shock move out of Sydney after his brain aneurysm diagnosis

Shock jock Kyle Sandilands is set to move to Melbourne – part time.

The Kyle and Jackie O show star, 53, who lives in a $13million mansion in Sydney‘s affluent Vaucluse, recently revealed his plans to head down south to his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Speaking at the Heard radio conference on Tuesday, Jackie said Kyle was planning on purchasing a home in Australia’s second biggest city as the pair do their best to ‘lean into’ Melbourne content on their show.

The pair have struggled to win over listeners in the southern capital since expanding into the city in April 2024.

‘Kyle has gotten all wrapped up in buying a house in Melbourne and spending more time there,’ Jackie, 50, said.

Jackie also appeared to apologise for the pair’s trademark crude and explicit humour.

‘So, Melbourne. They tuned in and they heard really f***ed up s**t that we should not have been talking about,’ she said.

‘And I cringe when I think (about it). Anyway, it is what it is. It is done and now we have to rely on those people to re-tune in and give it a second chance.

‘I think that word of mouth is probably the way it (the audience) will come around, but that will take time and that is OK.’

Jackie’s comments come after the notoriously outspoken pair launched a new slogan last month.

‘Listen now. We’re behaving’ their fresh ad reads – an apparent bid to appeal to a larger audience in Melbourne.

The advertisement has been plastered all over Melbourne’s buses as the breakfast show pokes fun at their naughty reputation.

Kyle and Jackie have famously interviewed people about their sex lives and revealed how to identify an erotic massage parlour in racy segments on their program.

But after the show was introduced to Melbourne last year, KIIS FM management have been tweaking the show to make it more appealing to the Melbourne market.

In November, it was announced that Kyle would be reducing his trademark graphic sexual content.

It comes after Kyle told listeners last week he had a brain aneurysm which required immediate emergency brain surgery.

The media veteran warned listeners ‘a life of cocaine abuse and partying are not the way to go’.

The top-rating KIIS FM host announced the news at the beginning of his breakfast show last Monday.

‘On Friday, I was told by my medical team – which sounds like I’m already very sick, that I have a brain aneurysm and it requires immediate attention, brain surgery,’ Kyle said.

‘My doctor said if I didn’t get it checked, I would have died.’

He then cracked a joke about the show’s lower ratings in Melbourne.

‘If you just tuned in to us after all these years, lap it up. And if you’re in Melbourne… you’re coming to the party too late. ‘You may get your wish. I may be dead,’ he said.

He revealed that his doctor had banned him from doing cocaine, having sex, masturbating, heavy lifting and becoming stressed.

His wife Tegan Kynaston, 38, who he welcomed son Otto with in 2022, ‘bursts into tears’ every time she sees him since they got the sad news, Kyle revealed.

Kyle was absent when the show returned on Tuesday last week, and Jackie O told listeners he had vomited on himself.

‘Apparently he’s, um, projectile… he’s vomited all over himself this morning,’ she said.

It is unclear who will fill in for Kyle during his time off-air for surgery.

What is a brain aneurysm?

‘A brain aneurysm — also known as a cerebral aneurysm or intracranial aneurysm — is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. An aneurysm often looks like a berry hanging on a stem.

Experts think brain aneurysms form and grow because blood flowing through the blood vessel puts pressure on a weak area of the vessel wall. This can increase the size of the brain aneurysm. If the brain aneurysm leaks or ruptures, it causes bleeding in the brain, known as a hemorrhagic stroke.

Most often, a ruptured brain aneurysm occurs in the space between the brain and the thin tissues covering the brain. This type of hemorrhagic stroke is called a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Brain aneurysms are common. But most brain aneurysms aren’t serious, especially if they’re small. Most brain aneurysms don’t rupture. They usually don’t cause symptoms or cause health problems. In many cases, brain aneurysms are found during tests for other conditions.

However, a ruptured aneurysm quickly becomes life-threatening and requires medical treatment right away.

If a brain aneurysm hasn’t ruptured, treatment may be appropriate in some cases. Treatment of an unruptured brain aneurysm may prevent a rupture in the future.’
