Follow Mail Sport’s live blog for the weigh-in of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson ahead of their historic night on Netflix.
Mike Tyson or Will Smith?
The question is, who did it better?
Jake Paul is already playing up to this slap on social media, he is absolutely loving it.
He has even changed his Instagram profile picture to one of Chris Rock being slapped by Will Smith.
I remember that day, it was simply mental. No other way to describe it.
Who won the weigh-in?
What was a pretty mundane and low-octane event suddenly got feisty at the end there, I loved it.
It’s always good to see how fighters look on the day before the big bout, isn’t it?
You can gage their emotions and how it could affect them in the ring tomorrow, and that is certainly the case tonight.
Has that weigh-in changed your mind on who out of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will win the fight tomorrow?
It hasn’t to me, it’s just made me excited.
Pumped up Paul
I have to say, I am impressed with how Jake Paul handled that.
The slap from Mike Tyson wasn’t exactly hard, but he did not even flinch or try and engage in an aggressive way.
If anything, it just pumped him up and the photo below proves it.
It will be interesting to see what his reaction is like when he is actually caught by a proper right hook…
Tyson in good shape
Mike Tyson looks in better shape every time I see him.
He strutted onto that stage with barely an ounce of body fat on him, he is absolutely shredded.
The former undisputed champion just has that look in his eye too, he really wants to get in that ring.
The only thing he said after slapping Jake Paul was ‘talking’s over.
Now that’s a pretty ominous statement. He really isn’t fussed about bugging up this fight anymore.
Paul packs on the pounds
I mean, I knew Jake Paul was bigger but he weighs a lot more than I was expecting him to.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he carries that extra weight around the ring with him and how it will affect his stamina.
He was over 40lbs lighter than that when he faced Tommy Fury last year, weighing in at 184lbs for that fight.
But what I will say is that he looks extremely relaxed and confident going into this fight. He doesn’t seem to be feeling the pressure at all.
I guess the publicity of this is already doing wonders for him…
But whatever money I was offered, it would get me in the ring with the Badest Man on the Planet, that’s for sure.

WATCH: Tyson lands slap on Paul
Right, we have to talk about this.
I was not expecting Mike Tyson to come out throwing on weigh-in night. He looked like a very angry man.
It means we didn’t get a proper square-off, unfortunately, but the drama is enough for me.
It wasn’t the bets of shots, but the intent behind it was enough.
Paul: ‘He must die’
Jake Paul, speaking on Netflix:
‘I didn’t even feel it, he’s an angry little elf. That was a cute slap, Mike. I am f***ing him up, I am f***ing him up – it’s personal now. He must die!
Tyson slaps Paul!
Oh my word, what have I just witnessed!
Mike Tyson goes to square up with and he swings an open-handed right hook which lands on Jake Paul’s chin.
Paul is unmoved and then security jumps in. It’s pure chaos on the stage.
Tyson looks extremely angry while Paul sits down on the floor with a yoga pose, they are the polar opposites.
Tyson outweighs Paul
No such showmanship from Mike Tyson, he means business.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion gets cheers as he charges onto the stage with a mean look in his eyes.
He is sporting what I would call briefs as he takes to the scale and my word they are small.
And he outweighs Paul at 228.4lbs…
Paul weighs 227.2lbs
Now it’s time for the main event fighters to take to the stage.
There are a smattering of boos as Jake Paul’s name is announced and then he comes to centre stage before pulling a Jude Bellingham-esque celebration.
He looks incredibly loose and relaxed before taking the scales.
And he weighs… 227.2lbs, the heaviest he has ever weighed for a fight by 28 pounds.
He is a big boy now, my word.
Taylor: ‘Biggest night in women’s boxing’
Katie Taylor, speaking on Netflix:
This is a huge moment, this is going to be the biggest night in women’s boxing ever. I am so grateful.
Serrano: ‘This is our time’
Amanda Serrano, speaking on Netflix:
This is the defining moment for all women in boxing, this is our time. We worked really hard to be in this position, I couldn’t ask for a better dance partner. I can’t wait to go out there and show my hands.
Katie Taylor comes in at 137.4lbs
Now it’s time for the champion.
Katie Taylor looks a lot more serious as she enters the stage with the same track in the background.
And she weighs exactly the same as Amanda Serrano at 137.4lbs.
Now it’s time for the face-off, they are usually very respectful and it’s son different here.
There are a few head nods and words shared while Serrano tries to pump up the crowd.
This is going to be a hue fight.
Serrano weighs in at 137.4lbs
It’s time for the co-main event.
Amanda Serrano comes out with the Puerto Rico flag aloft with Rihanna’s track Run This Town featuring Jay-Z in the background.
Of course, she makes weight and comes in at 137.4lbs.
She looks in a great mood and is bopping around that stage. To be fair, I am doing the same in my seat.
Jake Paul struts in
Now all the big hitters are here…
It’s not long until Jake Paul will be on stage for the weigh-in and he has just arrived at the Toyota Music Factory.
I spoke about Mike Tyson’s outfit, but I think the less I say about this one, the better.
Anderson Silva in the house
Wow, I was not expecting that appearance.
MMA legend Andrson Silva has just been called onto the stage to oversee a square-off between Neeraj Goyat and Whindersson Nunes.
Remember, he tried out boxing against Jake Paul once… it didn’t go very well.
Now he’s just enjoying himself as a punter and is currently translating for his countryman Nunes.
Vibrant music
I am loving the tunes at the Toyota Music Factory. I mean, it’s in the name I guess.
I’m just a sucker for a good walk-out song, so I simply can’t wait until that moment tomorrow night.
For now, though, I’m just enjoying the music on offer as we wait for the big guns to come onto the stage.
One final square-off before the big night.
Ceremony in full flow
Right, the show is now underway…
Our first few athletes are coming to the stage with some murmurs here and there from those in attendance.
There has been an early bit of drama as Italian fighter Armando Casamonica has missed weight.
I wonder if any of the big guns have done the same?
Tyson arrives
Mike Tyson is in the house and he has rocked up in what can only be described as a snazzy jacket.
I did not know that was his style, but I like it.
Iron Mike doesn’t exactly look buzzing to be there, I must say. He’s just so down to fight and wants it over with.
Beefy Jake
Jake Paul is looking absolutely wham…
You can certainly tell that the YouTuber has packed on the pounds to get up to heavyweight for this fight.
The most he has ever weighed for a fight before this one is 199lbs. I’m pretty sure he will weigh more than that tonight.
I guess we will have to wait and see later.
Paul can run but can’t hide
There is a reason Mike Tyson used to be called ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’.
Absolutely nobody wanted to mess with Tyson in his prime and the same pretty much stands true now.
He may be 58, but I certainly would not want to get in the way of one of his left hooks. Who would be able to do the live blogs after that?
I mean, there is never a scenario where that would happen. I don’t think so, anyway.
But it will be happening for Jake Paul tomorrow and Mail Sport’s Jeff Powell believes he should be more than concerned about being KO’d by one of those bad boys.
Big Bad Iron Mike
Not to spoil the fun too much, but Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have already done their real weigh-ins.
Yes, I don’t know why they need two either…
I guess the promoters just want to make a big thing out of it. For the people, right?
Anyway, some pictures have surfaced of Tyson during his earlier weigh-in and my word does he look in great shape.
You’d never be able to guess this man was 58 years of age. Crazy.
While we don’t know how much he actually weighs yet, what we do know is that he is in fine fettle.
‘Fans arriving in costumes’
By Charlotte Daly At The Toyota Music Factory In Irving, Texas
Fans are all arriving in costumes – there’s a woman dressed as Spider-man, a man as Zorro, and all sorts. Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are also here – assuming they’ll do a performance at some point this evening.
What time is the weigh-in?
I know you all want to know how long you will be waiting around, don’t you?
The thing is, it could be a while…
Netflix’s stream of the ceremony does not start until 01:00 GMT, so we have a bit of time to go yet.
Also, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will not come on stage until the very end. We will go through the other fighters first.
There is no need to worry, though, you have me to entertain you for the next hour or so.
Tyson: ‘I am not gonna lose’
Mike Tyson, former two-time world champion, speaking on Wednesday:
I’m fine with everything [being the underdog] – I’m fine with everything. I am not gonna lose.
Paul: ‘I’m not getting my s*** bit off’
Jake Paul, YouTuber-turned-boxer, speaking on Wednesday night:
I’m not getting my s*** bit off on Friday night, so I got my diamond, spiked, ear covers right there.
About last night
It’s been a crazy few days in Texas, I will tell you that much.
We’ve had open workouts, press conferences, and now we have the weigh-in. Soon enough, the talking will all be over.
To be fair, they did the majority of it last night in an eventful evening at the Toyota Music Factory.
It’s fair to say Jake Paul tried to get under Mike Tyson’s skin…
However, unlike in the past, Iron Mike refused to bite back. He was rather relaxed it seems, he just wants the scrap to happen now.
However, I think we should re-live some of the best quotes from the night, don’t you?
Well, you don’t have a choice in the matter – I am doing it anyway.
The fight card
It’s not only Jake Paul and Mike Tyson who will be fighting tomorrow.
There are set to be six other scraps on the undercard which you will certainly not want to miss.
They should all be here this evening for the ceremonial weigh-in, so you may as well know who they are.
So, with that in mind, here is the fight card for tomorrow:
- Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
- Katie Taylor (c) vs Amanda Serrano – for WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles
- Mario Barrios (c) vs Abel Ramos – for WBC welterweight title
- Neeraj Goyat vs Whindersson Nunes
- Shadasia Green vs Melinda Watpool
- Lucas Bahdi vs Armando Casamonica
- Bruce Carrington vs Dana Coolwell
T-1 Day
Guys, it’s time to get excited…
We are now just one day away from witnessing one of the weirdest boxing fights in the history of the sport.
In just over 24 hours time Iron Mike Tyson will return to the ring aged 58 to take on social media sensation Jake Paul.
Back when I was a teenager, I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined Paul fighting one of the best heavyweights of all time.
It’s still completely bonkers.
But anyway, first, we have the ceremonial weigh-in which takes place in roughly 90 minutes time.
How wham will they both be?
Well, you are going to have to stick with us to find out, aren’t you?
