Jake Paul‘s Olympic speed skater girlfriend Jutta Leerdam congratulated the YouTuber with a kiss in the ring after he beat former world champion Mike Tyson.
The 27-year-old Youtuber-turned-boxer claimed a unanimous decision against Tyson, who is 31 years his senior, in front of a packed AT&T Stadium on Friday night.
Tyson, 58, was unable to match Paul’s energy who seemed to refrain from landing a decisive blow and taking a points win in front of 70,000 fans in Texas.
One of the first people to congratulate Paul was his girlfriend Leerdam, a Dutch Olympic silver medal speed skater, planting a kiss on his lips as he celebrated in the ring.
Speaking to the Mail after the fight, Leerdam said: ‘He did great and this event is so insane and so big. I’m already so proud of him before even going into that ring.
‘He did amazing and he showed so much respect to Mike as well which I think is amazing because he is a legend of course. Everybody thinks that, so I thought it was great.
Paul and Leerdam began dating in last year, and went public in April, with Paul continuing his social media and boxing careers with Leerdam working on her skating and influencer work.
Since then the two have been spotted supporting each other at their events, Paul at Leerdam’s skating meets and Leerdam in attendance for Paul’s bouts.
Leerdam showed up to the fight, which was streamed live on Netflix, wearing a white dress with a high slit and the top-half adorned with silver sequins.
Ahead of the bout, a Netflix documentary titled Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson was made detailing the journey of the fight.
And in episode two of the series, Leerdam appears and talks through her relationship with Paul, including a detail of how she didn’t in fact like him when they first crossed paths.
‘Jake sent me a DM on Instagram and asked if I wanted to be on his podcast,’ she said.
‘When he contacted me online, I thought, “What an arrogant idiot. He thinks he can do anything, but he won’t get me”.
‘[But] We really clicked in these two fast-paced worlds on a deep and super personal level. Since that moment, we have been inseparable.’
Paul added: ‘She thought I was a nasty guy, which I am. But then she understood my humour.’
The 25-year-old, who was born in ’s-Gravenzande, Netherlands, boasts a pretty impressive resume holding a Winter Olympic silver medal in Beijing in 2022.
She most recently won gold at the World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands in March 2023.
The Olympic silver medallist and six-time world champion Leerdam previously revealed how she feels watching Paul in the ring.
Leerdam, who boasts 4.6million followers on Instagram, admitted that it scares her watching her partner fight.
‘I’m a little scared, but I’m also an athlete and I’m competitive,’ she said. ‘So he has to win.
‘I think, “Hey, stay away from my boyfriend”. But it’s also the sport, so I understand that. I’m still sitting here with mixed feelings.
