James Carville: Is There a Conservative Mole in the Progressive Wing of Dem Party?

Today’s Democratic Party, especially the progressive wing – which defines “progressive” as “progress on the road to socialism” – is an organization that has been slipping into lunacy for some years now. The historic reelection of President Trump threatens to send them completely into the cuckoo’s nest.

Oh, all right, let’s be honest – Pres. Trump’s reelection already has sent them completely into the cuckoo’s nest. One need only review the minutes of the Democrat National Committee’s (DNC) most recent annual meeting to see that.

Former Clinton advisor James Carville has seen it, too, and he’s wondering if the right has somehow slipped a mole into the ranks of the progressives, to encourage them in public pronouncements of lunacy.

He may have a point.

James Carville suggested there could be a “plant” in progressive Democratic politics during his podcast on Thursday to see how many “stupid things” the party could embrace while discussing the Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair race.

The political consultant read a description of former DNC Chair Jamie Harrison’s announcement during the elections that they must be “gender balanced.” Harrison said during the election process, “Our rules specify that when we have a non-binary candidate or officer, the non-binary individual is counted as neither male nor female, and the remaining six offices must be gender balanced with the results of the previous four elections.”

Carville sounded the alarm about the statement during his podcast and said it was the level of “jack—ery” that the party has embraced.

It brings up an interesting question – if the Republicans did want to stick a mole in the Democratic Party, they would want to infiltrate that person into the progressive wing, because there’s more to be gained by doing so. And if the Republicans did have a mole in the Democrats’ progressive wing, they would want to stack up as many bat-guano-crazy operating rules and policy proposals as they could – and would encourage the progressives to speak loudly and unendingly about those proposals.

Isn’t that what they are doing right now? If the GOP did have a mole in the Democrats’ progressive wing, how would you tell the difference?

Carville continues with another example:

Carville also pushed back against a push for pet bereavement leave during the discussion.

“I mean, come on. I mean, please just think of how, and fortunately no one’s got overly publicized this, although the right to use it in some places…just how clueless you sound to people who are agrarian. It’s like, you know, you’re living on a different thing… Life and death on a farm is something that happens every six hours,” he said.

Mr. Carville shows, on occasion, a certain clarity of viewpoint that is missing from most Democrats today.

But in talking about the cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs wing of the Democratic Party right now, during Trump II, James Carville may as well be shouting down a well. The progressives, as is very apparent, still can’t believe they lost on the issues. They think they lost because of racism, misogyny, or for any other reason other than their candidate couldn’t string together a coherent sentence if you spotted her two verbs and a conjunction, and that their party platform was just plain daffy.

No, their answer to Kamala Harris’ loss is to double down on daffy and prog louder, because if the American voters would only just stop being selfish and un-woke, they would see how awesome things like paid pet bereavement leave, having dudes on women’s sports teams, and $9 a gallon gasoline really is.

I’ll give Carville some credit for one thing: He’s trying to save Democrats from themselves. But they ain’t listening. Personally, I hope they never start.
