Jasmine Crockett Weaponizing Nancy Mace’s Trauma Should Speak Volumes About Democrats’ Care for Women

The fiery moment between Texas Rep Jasmine Crockett and South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace is currently going around the internet, and it’s honestly one of the most disgusting moments I’ve seen between congressional members.

My colleague Rusty Weiss currently has the story up on the front page as I write this, and you should definitely go read his article in order to get the full exchange between the two women, but below is the meat of the exchange which features Crockett calling Mace a child and Mace effectively getting angry and asking Crockett if she wants to take the argument outside.

(‘Child, Listen’: Nancy Mace Challenges Jasmine Crockett to ‘Take It Outside’ After Dem Rep Mocks Her)

The build-up to this was Crockett doing what she does best, attempting to get under Mace’s skin in order to provoke a reaction.

“I can see that somebody’s (Mace’s) campaign coffers really are struggling right now,” Crockett chided. “So she’s gonna keep saying trans, trans, trans, so that people will feel threatened.”

She even went so far as to say, in front of Mace, that the fear of being raped is “fantasy” and that it’s “dramatic.”

Again, Mace lived this out. It was no fantasy. This is one of the most painful, soul-sucking experiences a person can endure and here was Crockett effectively waving it away as nothing to be that concerned about.

I can’t imagine having to sit and tolerate that, then hearing “and child, listen,” to cap it all off, as if the non-experienced is wiser and learned than the one who did the experiencing.

Crockett knew what she was doing. Mace is a rape survivor, and was recently physically attacked by a transgender activist. Mace has been on the forefront of protecting women’s-only spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms because she understands first-hand what can happen when a man gets to a woman in a vulnerable space. Keeping men out of women’s spaces is a no-brainer.

But the Democrats don’t see it that way. They fall back on what they refer to as “inclusivity” and make the case that anyone attempting to stop this is a hateful bigot, all so they can generate outrage among the populace and win votes. They paint themselves as the good guys because they’re trying to help what they’ve sold as the “oppressed” and therefore, anyone who opposes them is the oppressor.

This is exactly what Crockett was trying to play off when she went after Mace, using verbiage that she knew would make Mace angry.

You and I have probably met several of these types throughout our lives. These are people who manipulate emotions by using select words that are meant to agitate and provoke without directly relying on overt insults, so that when the person reacts angrily, they can claim they’re the mature ones in the room. This is manipulative behavior that we as a society don’t call out enough. Our attention is always focused on the person reacting, telling them to calm down and not react because “that’s what they want.”

But if you’re someone like Mace who has endured what Crockett is intentionally making light of, reacting the way she did was perfectly understandable. Mace’s team said that Mace asking Crockett to “take it outside” was inviting Crockett to talk about it over a drink, but if we were to take the offer at face value, and we assume she meant what we all thought she meant, I don’t think her reaction was wrong. I’m not sure if I would’ve reacted any differently.

With that said, I think this moment should truly highlight something for women all over America.

Crockett and the Democrats are clearly not concerned about women. What matters is the agenda, and the left will accomplish this by any means necessary, even if it means mocking a rape survivor in order to make her look like an angry lunatic for social media feeds. For people who never had to go through what Mace has, then this might work, at least on a good chunk of people who see the anger of Mace and not the strategy by Crockett.

But it needs to be understood that Crockett wasn’t just dismissing Mace’s traumatic experience, she was using it against her, mocking the experience, and dismissing it. Mace’s experience is one that many women have had to endure, and as such, when Crockett said what she said to Mace, she was mocking and dismissing all the women who had this experience too.

Moreover, you don’t see any Democrats from the so-called “Party of Women” coming out to denounce or rebuke Crockett for calling fears and concerns about the safety of women “dramatic.”

Crockett is exhibiting just how much Democrats actually care about women. This wasn’t a moment that showcased Mace’s emotional fragility, as Crockett intended, but it was a mask-off moment for the entirety of the Democrat Party.

Women deserve to be able to use spaces reserved just for them, where they can find privacy and safety without worrying about someone following them in and using the excuse that they identify as a woman, so they can do as they please. A man entering a woman’s space and assaulting her is not a “dramatic” fear. It’s happened on multiple occasions, and it will continue to happen more if we both figuratively and literally open the door for it.

Democrats should not be given the chance to bring things to that point in their quest to be “inclusive.” Putting a fox in a hen house can be viewed as “inclusive” as well, but it doesn’t make it smart.

Mace’s anger was right and righteous, and Crockett is a disgusting person and a fitting representative of this modern Democrat Party.
