Kamala Harris Releases a Thanksgiving Message, and Things Get Weird

Kamala Harris has emerged. As RedState reported, the failed presidential nominee, finally addressed her supporters Tuesday, and the clip quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons. Some even speculated that she was drunk given her appearance and how odd her behavior was.

That wasn’t all, though. Apparently, the vice president used the occasion to film a variety of messages, including one that wasn’t released until Thanksgiving. Appearing with Doug Emhoff, the two struggle through reading a teleprompter, and things just get weird.

There’s no real point in transcribing it because it’s what’s said is just typical political slop read from a script. It’s the visuals and the body language that tell the story. Emhoff kicks off the video, and he looks and sounds somewhere between anger and wanting to cry. I know he really wanted to be the “First Man,” but I didn’t think he’d take it as hard as he allegedly slapped his ex-girlfriend. The dude seems downright depressed. 

Then there’s Harris, who looks “puffy” for lack of a better term. I typically have a “no commenting on a woman’s looks rules,” but I’m not doing so as a measure of attractiveness. I’m pointing it out to say she just looks different. I suppose that makes sense given she just lost to Donald Trump, something she’ll never be able to live down. I’m sure the stress has gotten to her, and I’d want to go crawl under a rock and never come out too. To be fair, she does sound less inebriated here than in that leaked donor video filmed on the same day. 

Honestly, I don’t know why politicians do these things. It’s actually kind of refreshing that Donald Trump forgoes them. Let’s put aside the weirdness of it all. Does anyone believe Doug Emhoff and Kamala Harris wanted to film that video? They’d clearly rather be somewhere else, and it’s so obvious when you watch them. So why bother?

That is unless she has her eye on running again, which has been rumored. I just can’t imagine she’s that vapid, though. I mean, yeah, she’s infamous for her shallowness and spinning of word salads, but surely, Harris knows that’s a fool’s errand, right? Of course, someone who has spent most of their career leaching off taxpayers has a propensity to keep running for office because campaigns become a job for them. 

My advice to Harris is to get out of politics. She’s got plenty of money, and if Hillary Clinton is any guide, losing to Donald Trump will provide her with a windfall of even more cash. She should stop performing, and go live her life. She won’t do that, though, because the thirst for power is intoxicating to Democrats.
