As we reported, the Pentagon informed its resident press corps that NBC, the NY Times, NPR, and Politico would be moving out of the special spaces they had been occupying in the building for media. Now, according to the Pentagon, they will be giving other media the chance to use the spaces on a rotational basis, and not just having them used by the favored few. The first set of new people to be able to use the space were the New York Post, Breitbart News, OANN, and the Huffington Post.

That of course made folks on the left lose their mind.

Perhaps one of the worst responses was from Katie Couric, who has been a news presenter for the three big legacy networks at various points in her career, including NBC. The tweet went crazy viral with almost 24 million views. It’s easy to see why. Check out this ridiculous hyperventilation:
Really? So, news becomes “propaganda” when NBC, NPR, NYT and Politico don’t get special space at the Pentagon? They’re still part of the pool — just now, they’re not getting a special privilege, and they’re being treated like everyone else in the reporting pool. These changes should make the news more honest.
What Couric and others on the left are likely upset about is that this loosens their special status. If some more right wing outlets getting to use the space is how it becomes “propaganda,” then what was it when the left wing outlets had the space? She appears to be making a comment — without realizing it — about her colleagues.
But when you see how she manipulates facts just in her reaction to this simple-to-understand story, you know how ridiculous what she says is. Does she really think that people are just going to fall for this spin? Liberal media types are so upset that legacy media is tanking, that no one believes them anymore, and that new media is on the rise. People just aren’t falling for it anymore.

Virtually all the responses to her post mocked her, and called out the liberal media for propaganda in the past. Most of the mainstream media has been a liberal media propaganda organ for years. Can we talk about Russia collusion? What about the coverage — or more exactly, the lack of coverage or spin — on Joe Biden’s cognitive decline? Some even mentioned Couric having to apologize for “misleading” editing in a gun documentary back in 2016.
Clearly, it would be hard for this reaction by Couric to be more ironic.
