In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s sweeping win in the presidential race last Tuesday and the unhinged meltdowns from leftist women that followed, I firmly believe we need to have a national conversation about parenting – particularly as it relates to politics.

As further evidence, we turn to Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), one of the most overrated “stars” in Democrat political circles, something that was seemingly confirmed when she lost her primary bid in March to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in the race to replace the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) after Porter tried to ride her Twitter/X fame and whiteboard memes to victory.

On Saturday, Porter appeared for a segment on Fox 11’s “The Issue Is” alongside Puck journalist Peter Hamby to talk about their thoughts on the election results, why they happened, and what they believe the future holds for America.
During the interview, anchor Elex Michaelson asked Porter “What happened, why did Trump win?” First, Porter proclaimed that the election in which Trump won all swing states and Republicans gained several Senate seats did not signify a “Trump mandate.” Right after that, she told a story about picking up her 12-year-old daughter from water polo practice, only to discover that she was crying.
When Porter asked her what happened, did someone hit her or yell at her during practice or something along those lines, Porter claimed “She said, ‘Mom, Trump won. Trump’s gonna win and what if I get raped and need to have an abortion?'”
“This is from my 12-year-old daughter,” Porter went on to say with a concerned look on her face, “and so it was really a reminder of how scary this time is for people and how important it is for Democrats to have strategies both at the state level and federal level to make sure that we can continue to protect people’s rights.”

In a tweet posted the next day, Porter made sure to boast about how she “was a fighter” who would protect her children:
“Here’s what I told my daughter in response: ‘Don’t worry. Mom is a fighter, and I am not going to let anything bad happen to you.'”
Like many who reacted to this story, I was of two mindsets:
1) She’s either full of it and never had any such conversation with her daughter and is using her to score political points, or
2) She’s been engaging in some questionable parenting by ingraining fear of her political opposition into a 12-year-old girl.
If the second one is true, it lends further credence to points being made by myself and others about how the petulance and embarrassing drama-queening we’ve seen post-election from women is learned behavior instilled in them by authority figures in their lives who should dang well know better.
I mean, seriously – think about it. Talking about the abortion issue with a child that hasn’t even hit their teenage years yet. Indoctrinating them with unfounded fears about your political opposition taking away the so-called “right” to abortion.

The facts of the matter are this: Porter and her family live in a state where she won’t have to worry about abortion being “banned.” It’s also a state where Democrat “leaders” – some of who Porter has no doubt clinked glasses with – are notoriously soft on the types of crimes her daughter is allegedly worried about, an issue residents are absolutely fed up with if one takes into account what happened in local races on Election Day.
I don’t know whether this conversation actually took place, but what I do know is that either way, it’s a bad look for Katie Porter, who we already knew was a bad person but who still needs to be called out for it anyway.
