Married At First Sight’s Jamie Marinos has never been one to hold her tongue.
And now the fiery bride is speaking out after discovering fellow contestant Lauren Hall branded her ‘boganic’ during the hens night.
In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Jamie, 28, didn’t hold back when asked about Lauren’s comments, making it clear she was unbothered by the label.
‘Oh, look, I think ‘boganic’ is a hilarious term, and I even chucked it in my Instagram caption, so thanks, Lauren,’ Jamie laughed.
Lauren, 37, had dismissed the idea of ever being friends with Jamie, privately telling producers during the hens night that Jamie was ‘just a bit… boganic.’
But Jamie insists she had no idea there was any tension at the time.
‘Do you know what’s funny? I had no bloody idea me and Lauren had tension. I just thought she was a rude b**ch,’ she admitted.
‘I just thought she was very rude, but at the same time, I didn’t say anything bad about her because I thought, ‘It’s the first night—maybe she’s just very introverted.’ But she was just someone who didn’t get up and say hello to people, which I found very rude. You always saw me running up and saying hello.’
The outspoken bride also recalled a moment where she went out of her way to make others feel included, only to realise Lauren wasn’t giving the same energy back.
‘I knocked over a glass moving a chair for someone to sit down so everyone was included, because I’m a hospitable wog,’ Jamie explained. ‘But she was just very standoffish.’
Despite Lauren’s unfiltered assessment of her, Jamie remains unfazed, even poking fun at the dig.
‘Personally, I love trash bag nails. The longer, the better,’ she quipped.
‘I say things as they are’.
Jamie is known for her unfiltered personality, and she made it clear she won’t be holding back throughout the experiment.
‘I just, my non-negotiable is just closed-minded people. I’m very much, I’m very spiritual, open, I say things as they are. Anyone that’s very closed-minded or negative or rude, it just doesn’t gel with me,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
And while Lauren may not be on her friends list, Jamie has bonded closely with several of the other brides, including Katie, Ash, and Awhina.
‘I connected straight away with Katie, Ash, and then also Awhina. They were just the three really bubbly, down-to-earth girls. And I think real definitely recognises real —I connected with them quite instantly,’ she shared.
With the dinner parties just beginning and tensions already brewing, Jamie and Lauren’s rivalry is sure to heat up.
