Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a four-man striker shortlist to help boost their fortunes in front of goal under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils have flattered to deceive in front of goal so far this season, scoring just 13 times across their 12 Premier League matches.
Mail Sport reported that United have made signing a centre-forward their priority, with Viktor Gyokeres a long-term option.
The Sporting star had thrived under Amorim and is being scouted by the club, although Man United‘s new head coach vowed not to raid his old club in January.
According to Sky Germany, Man United are considering four other candidates as they seek to resolve their attacking issues.
Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen are reportedly considered among the leading contenders.
Marmoush has starred in the Bundesliga this season scoring 11 goals in as many appearances for Frankfurt.
Only Harry Kane has outscored the Egyptian forward in the Bundesliga this season.
Marmoush would reportedly cost around £50million if Man United followed up on their interest.
Osimhen is claimed to also be under consideration with the forward currently on loan at Galatasaray after pushing to leave Napoli.
The forward, who has a £63m release clause, has scored eight goals in 10 matches this season including netting twice against Tottenham in the Europa League.
Randal Kolo Muani and Victor Boniface are claimed to be outside contenders on Man United’s shortlist.
Kolo Muani has made just two starts for French champions Paris Saint-Germain this season.
The Ligue 1 side are reportedly open to a loan deal or outright sale of the French international, who was signed for £77million last year.
Bayer Leverkusen’s demands for Boniface reportedly make the Nigerian forward an unlikely target for Man United despite their interest.
Boniface has scored eight goals in 15 matches in all competitions this season, after netting 14 in 23 league games to help Leverkusen to the title in the 2023/24 campaign.
Man United’s forwards have struggled for form this season, with Rasmus Hojlund having struck just twice after an injury-hit disrupted start.
Joshua Zirkzee’s debut goal remains his only one in a Man United shirt after 18 appearances, following his £36.5million summer move from Bologna.
