Rapper Ice Cube was slammed by MLB fans on Saturday night after appearing at the World Series in support of the Dodgers – before old photos showing him in Yankees gear emerged.
The Los Angeles native graced the field at Dodger Stadium ahead of Game 2, and wore a Dodgers hat and jacket as he performed his hit ‘Today Was a Good Day.’
But fans quickly dug up old photos of him in Yankees gear – with one branding him a ‘sellout’ on X.
Another sarcastically wrote, ‘MASSIVE LA Dodgers fan Ice Cube in the building’ along with a photo of the rapper in a Yankees jersey and hat.
The photos are from a 1992 performance of his at New York City‘s Apollo Ballroom.
However, that wasn’t the only time that Ice Cube donned the gear of another MLB team.
Fans also shared photos of him in an Orioles cap, Nationals cap and White Sox cap.
One even boldly claimed, ‘Not a single dodgers fan knows who he is.’
Nonetheless, most Dodgers fans marveled at his pregame appearance on X.
‘Cube killed man!! Nice job,’ one said.
‘WHAT A F*****G MOMENT LETS GET IT,’ another added.
And a third said, ‘A true professional and legend in the game. Not too many rappers could truly command a stadium like that, we love to see it.’
Game 2 comes after a truly wild Game 1 in which the Dodgers won via a Freddie Freeman walk-off grand slam.
The Dodgers, who were last champions in 2021, will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) are played in New York.
