Mon Dieu! Spirit Airliner Takes Small Arms Fire While Trying to Land in Haiti

Spirit Airlines can’t catch a break. Bullets – but no break. I’ve never been on a Spirit Airlines flight, so what I know about the taxicab yellow airline is what I’ve read.

In April, a Spirit Airlines Karen was immortalized when she got into an argument with a passenger. The confrontation was at the gate in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It soon escalated into an F-bomb exchange. Well,  “F**** you, too!” was the employee’s response to the ticketed passenger. To be fair she works for Spirit – maybe that is the textbook greeting to Spirit passengers.

The airline worker is seen telling the woman to hand over her boarding pass at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

“Show me your boarding pass! I want to see your boarding pass!” she says in the video, which was posted April 9 on TikTok and has garnered more than 8.2 million views.

Then a month later, there was a violent brawl on Spirit flight to Logan Airport in Boston. Two men got into a fight, and a flight attendant tried to break it up.

There was no information about what caused the men to exchange fisticuffs. It might have been over peanuts. Not P’Nut, the New York hero squirrel who gave his life so Trump could win, but rather the delicious bag o’ nuts Spirit offers to its premium passengers. The two pugilists were allowed to leave the flight, and neither were arrested – declining to press charges. Maybe being on a Spirit flight was enough punishment. Maybe they finally got a bag of nuts.

“That poor flight attendant. She was doing her best,” Grome said. “She’s putting herself in a dangerous situation to protect everyone else on the flight.”

Passengers said that after exiting the flight, they were confused to see the two men simply exiting the plane and making their way through the airport.

Now Spirit is taking fire, literally. A jet was blasted by small arms fire as it tried to land at Haiti’s main airport.

The ordeal unfolded at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, the airline confirmed to The [New York] Post.

The flight attendant was grazed by a bullet when the gunfire erupted, the Miami Herald reported, citing sources.

Multiple bullet holes could be seen in the overhead bins and a plane door in the aftermath, footage obtained by local outlet Media Libre Haiti showed.

The plane, which was en route from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., had to be diverted to an airport in the Dominican Republic.

“The plane has been taken out of service, and we are arranging for a different aircraft to return our Guests and crew to [Fort Lauderdale] today,” an airline spokesperson said.

“The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority, and we have suspended our service at Port-au-Prince (PAP) and Cap-Haitien (CAP) pending further evaluation.”

Haiti has always been a troubled country. Most of the country has been denuded for centuries, leaving a clear demarcation between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Some historians claim that it’s because slavers dropping off slaves deforested the country by exporting timber. That is one of the dumbest excuses I have ever read. Haitian slaves revolted almost 250 years ago.

Haiti was described by Trump in his first term as a s***hole country. The left had a conniption over that. Pro tip it, kinda is. Haitians were moved to the USA after a couple of natural disasters, and some settled in Springfield, Ohio. They seemed to have trouble driving and (maybe) with the neighbors’ pets – but the latter is just a rumor.

Gangs took over the country. Some gangsters were accused of eating humans. PolitiFact assured us that the claims were “unfounded,” with an expert on Haitian culture assuring the world that Haitians don’t eat people. Maybe pets – not peeps. The country is only about 600 miles from the U.S., but the majority of the country is impoverished. The Clintons and their grift machine, the Clinton Global Initiative, were involved at one point. No wonder it’s still a failed state.

I have a theory about this most recent event. Gangsters mistook the Spirit Airline jet for a giant yellow macaw and tried to blast it out of the sky for dinner.

Or maybe it was just another disgruntled Spirit Airlines customer. Spirit Airlines has suspended flights to Haiti. It catches bullets but no breaks. Maybe that should be Spirit’s new tagline:

“We Catch Bullets But No Breaks”

Mon Dieu! Even Haitian gangsters hate Spirit Airlines.
