Americans continue to discover just how much they were lied to during the COVID pandemic. Social distancing rules, schools being shut down, and mandatory vaccinations for groups of people who were the least likely to get COVID are being found to have been misinformation that had no basis in actual science. Add to that the horrific practice of denying life-saving medical care to people who were not comfortable with getting the mRNA vaccine or giving it to their children. Now, that hideous practice is hitting close to home in the Trump administration.

Adaline Deal is 12 years old and is a distant relative of Vice President JD Vance by marriage through his half-siblings. She was adopted from China at age four and was born with two rare heart conditions that the family was aware would one day result in Adaline needing a heart transplant. Adaline’s condition has been treated at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for ten of her 12 years, and her family was hopeful that when the crucial time came for her transplant, it would be performed there.
But in the latest example of still lurking COVID insanity, the hospital has been denied Adaline a spot on the transplant list because she has not received the COVID vaccine, a requirement for transplant recipients. The hospital also refused to give the family an exemption when they said the vaccination went against the family’s non-denominal Christian beliefs. Adaline’s mother, Janeen Deal, had this to say about the hospital’s decision, “I thought, wow. So, it’s not about the kid. It’s not about saving her life.” Janeen Deal added that she and her husband decided against the vaccine for Adaline after “the Holy Spirit put it on our hearts.”

Janeen Deal also went on to say that she did not think that the rest of the family, including 11 other children, eight of whom are adopted, that there would be any problem with COVID. She added, “We’ll take it as we can if it happens. But I know I cannot put this (vaccine) in her body knowing what we know and how we feel about it.”
Dr. Camille Kotton is the clinical director of transplant and immunocompromised host infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital. While the vaccine is recommended for transplant patients because of an overall higher risk of infection, Dr. Kotton explained that that group of patients is especially susceptible because they must take long-term immunosuppressants so their body does not reject the new organ, making them more susceptible to infection.
WTF??

Bo McMillan, spokesman for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, released a statement saying:
“At Cincinnati Children’s, clinical decisions are guided by science, research, and best practices. We tailor care plans to each patient in collaboration with their family to ensure the safest, most effective treatment.”
The hospital would also not confirm that Adaline was kept off the list.
For now, Adaline’s parents are hoping they can have the surgery performed at one of the other two transplant centers in the Cincinnati area. But they may also get a bit of help. Ohio State Rep. Jennifer Gross (R) is looking for fellow State House members to co-sponsor legislation that would halt the ridiculous and dangerous practice of denying children medical care because of vaccination status. In a tweet on X, Gross also hinted at something else that may be a factor in Adaline’s case, saying, “I’m proud to be the sponsor of the Ohio bill that seeks to prevent discrimination against religious liberty. Stay tuned.”

In the meantime, because the wheels of legislation take time, something Adaline Deal may not have in abundance, a GoFundMe page has been set up that has raised nearly $50,000 as of Wednesday. Janeen Deal is working with a group called Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom, which lobbies for the right to accept or refuse medical treatments in support of Gross’s bill. She summed up her daughter’s ordeal and the ongoing COVID madness still permeating a large part of America’s healthcare system.
“I’m so hopeful that this bill will save all the other children and adults so they don’t have to go through what Adaline’s had to go through. It’s 2025. It’s time to move on from all this madness. (Getting vaccinated) should be your choice.”
Stop the madness, indeed.
It’s deeply concerning when medical institutions impose vaccination mandates that can potentially put lives at risk. Recently, 12-year-old Adaline Deal, a relative of Vice President JD Vance, was denied a heart transplant at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital because she wasn’t vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu. Her parents, citing their religious beliefs and concerns about vaccine safety, declined the vaccinations. Now, they’re searching for another hospital that will accept her without these requirements.
