A man has died and another is injured after a horrific crash that saw a vehicle flip on its roof on a NSW highway.
The single vehicle accident occurred on the Snowy Mountains Highway at Talbingo, a small town about 55km south of Tumut at the edge of the Snowy Mountains in NSW about 11am on Friday.
The vehicle was travelling in a northbound direction when it left the road and flipped on its roof.
The male driver died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be in his 40s.
A male passenger believed to be in his 30s was treated by paramedics for abdomen and arm injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers remain at the crash scene and investigations continue.
Traffic was affected in both directions, with motorists allowed to pass in one direction at a time.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Earlier this month a 60-year-old woman died after her motorbike crashed at Kiandra on the Snowy Mountains Highway.
Her motorbike left the road around 10.40am on Sunday November 3 and went down a small embankment.
Paramedics treated her at the scene and she was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
She later died of her injuries.
