President-elect Donald Trump continues to name his Cabinet members at a record pace, and on Saturday, he announced Chris Wright, founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Denver-based fracking company Liberty Energy, to become the next energy secretary.

The campaign sent out an email celebrating the pick:
I am thrilled to announce that Chris Wright will be joining my Administration as both United States Secretary of Energy, and Member of the newly formed Council of National Energy.
Chris has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in Energy. He has worked in Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Oil and Gas. Most significantly, Chris was one of the pioneers who helped launch the American Shale Revolution that fueled American Energy Independence, and transformed the Global Energy Markets and Geopolitics.
Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy is a total game changer for American energy policy.
We as a country are lucky that Chris’s vast energy knowledge, leadership abilities, and commitment to energy freedom will guide our energy policy. https://t.co/1lMsW6eewu

He will also serve on Trump’s energy council:
Wright will also serve as a member on the newly formed Council of National Energy, which Trump said will consist of all agencies involved in the “permitting, production, generation, distribution, regulation, transportation” of energy. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum – Trump’s pick for secretary of the Department of the Interior – will be the chairman.

Wright has a completely different view of energy than the outgoing Biden administration:
The key Cabinet position announcement comes after Trump made independent energy and bolstering oil and gas production a cornerstone of his campaign. While on the campaign trail, Trump pledged to expand fracking and lift a pause on liquefied natural gas exports, which marks a sharp contrast with his predecessor.
Drill, baby, drill.
