The October Consumer Price Index (CPI) report shows a 0.2% monthly rise in inflation, with a 2.6% year-over-year increase, slightly above September’s 2.4% rate. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose by 0.3% for the month and 3.3% annually. These figures match economists’ forecasts. The report follows the Federal Reserve’s recent quarter-point interest rate cut—its second cut this year—as inflation remains above its 2% target.
Joining Alicia Summers is Jeffrey Small, President of Arbor Financial, to discuss this latest increase and the ongoing inflation battle.
