She’s an Oscar winner with a string of A-list exes and a very famous lifestyle brand.
And on Monday, this 52-year-old actress shared a baby-faced throwback photo of herself while celebrating a friend’s birthday.
Clad in a simple pink sweater and a white shirt, she looked worlds away from her usual red carpet glamour.
This blonde beauty has two children with a famous musician and has dated high-profile exes, including Angelina Jolie‘s and Jennifer Lopez‘s former husbands.
This star — who has also been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — has a famous mother, who’s won numerous accolades for her work in both film and television.
Can you guess who she is?
That’s right, it’s Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow!
Gwyneth — whose mom is renowned actress Blythe Danner, 81 — was celebrating her friend Mary Wigmore’s birthday, posting a throwback of them as children.
‘Happy birthday to my dearest @mary_wigmore who wouldn’t let me post the picture from lunch, so here are our coffees and us when we were about 10, already years into what would become the lifelong and most significant friendship. ILYSM, as your god daughter would say,’ she wrote.
Gwyneth delighted fans back in August when she announced her return to the big screen after a five-year hiatus, to appear in sport drama Marty Supreme alongside Timothee Chalamet.
She previously won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1998 film Shakespeare in Love.
The Los Angeles native also famously played Pepper Potts in Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010).
She has received acclaim for her performances in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), and David Fincher’s dark crime thriller Se7en (1995), on set of which she met her now ex-boyfriend, and Angelina’s former husband, Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt, 60.
Her other famous exes include Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Ben Affleck, 52, as well as Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 47, with whom she shares two kids: daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18.
She was married to Chris from 2003 until their ‘conscious uncoupling’ in 2016.
Gwyneth went on to marry television producer Brad Falchuk, 53, in 2018.
Gwyneth had last appeared in a film in 2019 — starring in Avengers: Endgame — as she took time away from acting to focus on her Goop business and raising her kids.
But now she’s making a return. In October, the actress was photographed sharing a passionate kiss with Timothee while filming in New York.
The pair locked lips during a steamy street scene as they star in the upcoming film inspired by Marty Reisman and the world of professional ping-pong players.
In recent years, she’s become increasingly recognized for her lifestyle brand, Goop.
From vagina candles to vampire repellent, Paltrow’s wellness empire Goop has sparked intrigue and outrage for well over a decade.
But the A-lister’s multi-million dollar brand appears to be suffering setbacks after fashion trade journal WWD reported last month that Goop would be slashing 18 per cent of its 216-person staff in a massive restructuring of the company.
It comes after the brand’s London store was forced to close last year after it suffered revenue losses as a consequence of the global pandemic.
Meanwhile, Gwyneth’s cosmetics line Goop Beauty has seen growth slow, with its revenue up 20% this year so far compared to the 42 per cent boost in 2023.
The wellness empire famed for offbeat products like sex dust and libido boosting supplements, was originally launched by Gwyneth in 2008 as a weekly newsletter.
The actress had famously listed a $75 candle, cheekily named ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’, for sale in her online Goop shop and revealed that the geranium, citrus bergamot and cedar scented candle originally started as a joke.
Back in 2021, Business Insider reported that Goop had lost at least 140 employees in the past two years, with multiple executives including a chief financial officer, chief technology officer and chief risk officer making exits.
While the pandemic accounted for some staffing loss, sources told the outlet that Goop’s high turnover problem predated COVID-19 layoffs, and that stingy pay, a ‘taxing culture,’ and the Academy Award winner’s habit of picking favorites and then seemingly changing her mind were the causes.
