That sound you hear is the cry to “Defund PBS!” reaching a fever pitch in the wake of its news division’s absolutely unhinged coverage of Elon Musk’s remarks at Monday’s inauguration parade.

As RedState’s Nick Arama reported, Musk was helping to entertain the crowd gathered at DC’s Capital One Arena as they awaited the arrival of a freshly inaugurated President Trump, who was held up at the Capitol with other ceremonial duties. It’s not news to anyone with eyes that Musk has been, and continues to be, massively pumped up to be part of the Trump team through his duties at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and that’s what was on display Monday. Per Nick:
At one point, he was so enthusiastic he pounded his chest over his heart and then shot his hand out as to throw his heart to the audience. He then said with his hand over his heart, “My heart goes out to you. It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured.”
To the perpetually-biased eyes of the media, as demonstrated by the brain trust at PBS News, this was definitely Musk giving a “Heil Hitler!” salute to the seething hordes of Nazis assembled in the arena, most of whom were bedecked in American flags and offered their prayers to the families of Jews held hostage in Gaza.
After all these years of having to keep their fascist fetishes a secret, PBS News apparently surmised the MAGA crowd and Elon Musk could finally confirm that they actually are “literally Hitler.”

“Some elections are important, some are not. But this one, this one really mattered and I just want to say thank you for making it happen,” Musk said before putting his hand on his chest and then raising it in a salute that appeared similar to the “Sieg Heil” used by Nazis at their victory rallies.
As it turns out, PBS News and its partisan brethren at places like CNN got it so spectacularly wrong that even the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) had to step in to correct them, tweeting:
It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge.
In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning. Let’s hope for healing and work toward unity in the months and years ahead.
This, friends, is proof positive that the media has learned absolutely nothing from Donald Trump’s phoenix-like rise from the ashes over the past four years. They are so devoid of substance or journalistic integrity that screaming “Nazi!” is literally all they have.
It was a particularly bad idea for PBS to go this route, as their target, Elon Musk, the top DOGE dog, is now their overlord. How idiotic do you have to be to attack the man who largely determines if you will continue to receive the largesse of the American taxpayer, who’s been helping pay the bills to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars every year?

Conservatives have long wanted taxpayer money stripped away from PBS, which rakes in a ton of money from private funders, and they may finally get their way. PBS has now squarely set themselves in Elon Musk’s sights, and NPR will likely be collateral damage.
And did they miss the fact that media outlets like ABC and CNN have had to shell out big bucks recently to settle defamation suits? The media seems determined to keep losing.
They either never learn, or they just don’t care. The media has been acting without consequences for a long time now, and it shows. They richly deserve everything they’re about to get.
