The interactions between the leaders at the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter brought us some priceless moments, from the look that Vice President Kamala Harris gave when she saw former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump talking to the frosty exchange Kamala had with First Lady Jill Biden.

One of the interesting exchanges was when Donald and Melania Trump were sitting down, and he shook hands with his former vice president, Mike Pence. It was their first public appearance together since they left office. Then there was Karen Pence, who did not stand up or shake their hands, and she got a lot of criticism on X for that. But she was eager to jump up and shake hands with Hillary Clinton and acknowledge her if you check that at about the 2:40 mark.
LOTS OF MATERIAL SO FAR AT JIMMY CARTER’S FUNERAL:
– Trump shakes hands with Mike Pence.
– Obama does not shake Trump or Melania’s hand – but shakes everyone else’s hands.
– Bush walks right past the Trump’s, then slaps Obama in the stomach and shakes hands with everyone else.

Some remarked that her name was appropriate, that she was being a “Karen.” Others criticized her for not being “Christian” in church during a funeral.

Now, Mike Pence has revealed what was said in that interaction. It’s typical Pence — I think he thinks this makes him look good.
Pence said he “welcomed” the opportunity to greet Trump. But it didn’t look like that at all; it looked like a tense exchange. Pence said he told Trump, “Congratulations, Mr. President,” and Trump responded, “Thanks, Mike.” Melania greeted him as well.
Pence told media that in one of their last exchanges in 2021, he said they were never going to agree on what he should have done on Jan. 6. But despite that he said he told Trump he would always pray for him. And he said Trump said, “That’s right, Mike, don’t ever change.” He said he had continued to pray for him.
But then he had to take a shot.
While the two appeared to remain cordial at the service for Carter, Pence told the outlet he doesn’t think Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is the right fit to manage Health and Human Services and was concerned about former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard serving as national intelligence director.

Pence has a mistaken impression of his own importance in this situation. Why does he think anyone would welcome his opinion on the nominees? He’s ceased to have any relevance. That just looks a little jealous and small to attack Trump’s nominees. He’s made his bed with the positions he’s taken. But it says a lot about him that he doesn’t want folks who are going to shake up the powers that be. It says a lot about where they are when Karen wants to shake Hillary’s hand. And none of what it is saying is good.
