Leftist tantrums continued apace Thursday as the losing side points fingers, engages in embarrassing public outbursts, and commences circular firing squads.

Take, for instance, David Plouffe, who was Barack Obama’s campaign manager back in 2008 and served as a senior advisor to the Kamala Harris presidential campaign in 2024. On Wednesday, mere hours after Harris suffered a brutal electoral defeat at the hands of Donald Trump, Plouffe took to X/Twitter to vent his spleen in a not-so-subtle dig a Joe Biden.
After praising Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon, Plouffe tweeted out:
“We dug out of a deep hole but not enough. A devastating loss.”
Plouffe’s tweet has been memory-holed, and we’ll get to that in a minute, but the internet is forever.

That “hole” obviously being the four disastrous years of Joe Biden’s presidency. Ably abetted by Kamala Harris, of course, but Plouffe would never admit that.
Plouffe’s sentiments did not go over well at the Biden White House, with one unnamed Biden staffer calling Plouffe a “Sanctimonious a**.” Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich had the details:
Obama staffers are trying to pin blame on Biden for Harris’ loss. Reacting to Plouffe’s tweet, one Biden-world source called Plouffe a “Sanctimonious a**” – another said “I find this so unproductive. Joe Biden is the President of the United States and won with out you. He successfully beat Donald Trump – something he never did.”

Plouffe never even gave the world a farewell message before unceremoniously deleting his account. But, his message is loud and clear: he doesn’t want to take responsibility for Kamala’s defeat, and he knows he screwed up by criticizing his own side. Plouffe makes a pretty good living off of giving bad political advice – he’s apparently the one who advised Kamala to skip the Al Smith Dinner – and doesn’t want to risk future employment opportunities by actually being honest about what happened to Democrats on Election Day.
It never seems to occur to the left to take a beat and actually think about what went wrong, why it went wrong, and what their role was in the failure. It’s always someone else’s fault.
The reality is that the politics of David Plouffe and Barack Obama have been thoroughly rejected by voters. Once the cool kids of progressive politics, Obama and Plouffe and their divisive brand of politics no longer resonate with anyone but the pinkest-haired of commies.
And the thing is, the Plouffes of the world didn’t see it coming. While they were cashing their big-bucks paychecks and patting each other on the back for hating Donald Trump, the rest of the country moved on. Blacks and Hispanics started supporting Republicans and even disaffected Generation X showed up for Trump. Rather than acknowledge those political realities, the left is deleting their social media accounts and retreating back into their sad, isolated echo chambers.

Plouffe isn’t the only lefty to rage-quit Twitter; the odious wife of the odious Alexander Vindman seems to have also done a “Plouffe!”

You remember Rachel Vindman. She’s the joyful soul who tweeted this after the second assassination attempt on President Trump: “No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.”
But, fragile egos apparently were harmed on Election Day. Expect the rage and petulance to continue for at least another four years as Democrats fail to come to terms with their unpopularity.
