The words “leadership” and “Democrat” usually do not fit together and that has certainly been the case as the California wildfires have raged out of control and with seemingly no end in sight despite the best efforts of firefighters in the Golden State.

Just in the last few days alone, we’ve seen some disgraceful moments from elected Democrat “leaders” over what’s happening, more recently with President Joe Biden appearing next to Gov. Gavin Newsom while in the state, where he promptly announced amid the heartbreaking destruction and despair that he had just become a great-grandfather.
“My son [Hunter] lives out here, by the way,” Biden proclaimed. “They got the notification yesterday that their home has probably burned to the ground. Today, it appears that it may be still standing. We’re not sure, but the good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today.”

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) has also faced heat from residents and even some in the media for, among other things, her noticeable absence during the fires, opting for a trip to Ghana in early January instead of sticking around to help lead her community through a tragic and unimaginable crisis:
As the flames crackled and spread, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was in Ghana for that country’s presidential inauguration.
It’s unclear when exactly Bass departed for Ghana — her office has not responded to my questions about the timeline of her trip. But it likely would have been sometime after Jan. 3, when President Joe Biden announced the four-member delegation he was sending to Ghana for the Jan. 7 inauguration.
By then, forecasts of dangerous fire conditions were already emerging.

Bass was set to return to Los Angeles around noon Wednesday, and just before 1 p.m., posted a video on X showing her talking with Newsom, U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla and firefighters near the scene of a fire.

One video Bass won’t be sharing to her Twitter/X page, however, was the absolute grilling she got from a reporter Wednesday over her absence and other Democrat-led city and state-level failures that greatly contributed to the devastation:
REPORTER: “Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning?”
MAYOR KAREN BASS: *Silence*
REPORTER: “Do you regret cutting the fire department budget by millions of dollars?”
MAYOR: *Silence*
REPORTER: “Have you nothing to say? @ElonMusk says that you’re incompetent. Are you considering your position?”
MAYOR: *Silence, walks away*

🚨 911, I’D LIKE TO REPORT A M*RDER: This reporter just sat here and showered the mayor of Los Angeles with scathing questions for being MIA during the fires.

Bass, I should point out, is not the only Democrat “leader” who has been called out for her grotesquely warped priorities and unwillingness to do what needs to be done to protect her city. As we reported earlier, President-Elect Donald Trump scorched Newsom over his failures, saying decisions made by the governor in the name of saving a type of fish called “smelt” were to blame for the wildfires:
Trump absolutely hammers Gavin Newsom over what is happening with the Palisades wildfires.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times: A majority of voters continuing to elect the same people/political party while hoping for a different outcome is a futile endeavor.
While there’s been some waking up in California among the masses when it comes to law and order, candidates who don’t have the best interests of the people at heart continue to be elected to positions of power.
This leads to disastrous outcomes, as recent events make clear. Change is needed sooner rather than later, and until that happens, bad decisions are going to continue to be made and it is the citizens who will end up paying the price – literally and figuratively speaking.
Los Angeles is one of the greatest cities in the world. We have failed her for far too long. Today Angelenos fight for survival. Tomorrow they must fight for change. Enough is enough. Let’s take back California.
