President Donald Trump has a wicked sense of humor that he’s had throughout his life, and that was much in evidence during the campaign.
We saw it particularly with two humorous moves in response to his political opponents. After Joe Biden called millions of Trump supporters “garbage,” Trump climbed into a garbage truck with an orange vest and had a few things to say about that.

When Kamala Harris told a story about working at McDonald’s as part of her back story but had no evidence to back it up, Trump turned it into a further comment on her being fake and vacuous by going to McDonald’s and doing a bit of work there himself. It was a brilliant move. He worked the fryer and the drive-thru window and seemed to have a great time with the help of great young trainers. People loved it; they loved the humanity of it, and it was one of the many things that blew up the Democrats’ nonsensical “Hitler” attack.

It was also funny because it drove folks on the left bats. They called it “staged,” as though they thought he actually was claiming to have worked there.

So his latest move is likely to drive them to distraction, and it’s hilarious.

Donald Trump Jr posted his father’s “resignation” from his job at McDonald’s on Instagram.
Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from my position at McDonald’s, effective Monday, January 20, 2025.
During my tenure here, I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve our customers and contribute to the fast-paced environment of this establishment. From flipping burgers, making fries and managing the drive-thru. Ive learned a lot both about the restaurant business and the value of hard work.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to be part of such an iconic American brand. The experience has been invaluable, and I and grateful for the skills I’ve developed. which I believe will serve me well in future endeavors.
I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition during my remaining time here. Please let me know how I can assist in finding and training my replacement, or in any other capacity to help maintain the high standards of service at our location.

How great is that? I think he might just have something else he has to do on Jan. 20, 2025, despite the fact he liked his job at McDonald’s. Add the garbage position and he has helped to buff out his resume.
But people also reminded him that he had one job remaining with McDonald’s that he did still need to address — fixing the ice cream machines. Some thought it was because of that promise that Joe Biden might have called him and invited him to the White House, although it might have also been because of the transition and because it would annoy Kamala Harris.
It’s going to be a banging four years.
