RedState Reports From the Red Carpet at Premiere of James O’Keefe’s Powerful New Film, ‘Line in the Sand’

James O’Keefe, formerly of Project Veritas and now the CEO of O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), has broken plenty of stories in his career. Known for exposés and undercover camera stings, he’s caught Disney employees talking about discriminatory hiring practices, he got a BlackRock recruiter on tape saying the investment giant “ran the world” and that the war in Ukraine was “good for business,” and many other groundbreaking stories.

His new film “Line in the Sand,” however, may go down as his biggest achievement yet, as it is a powerful, moving look at the border crisis, the human trafficking that goes with it, and the moral rot at the center.

I attended the premiere in Newport Beach, California, on Tuesday and spoke with O’Keefe and other attendees about the tragedy that’s unfolding every single day at the border and also in our cities, where migrants are being flown and bused into local communities by the Biden-Harris team.

I first chatted with One America News Network anchor Dan Ball, who felt strongly this was a much-needed movie:

I am very excited to see this. I think that any film that’s out there trying to expose exactly the crisis—the humanitarian crisis, the drug epidemic, and everything that’s coming in the last three and a half years because of the Biden-Harris regime—needs to be exposed.

I mean, these are the facts and the numbers you can’t lie about. They lost over 320,000 kids. Homeland Security has told us a couple weeks ago there’s 15,000 known rapists, 13,001 murderers, and we’ve seen more terrorists again that have been caught at the border. What about the gotaways?!

I also spoke with former Fox News senior correspondent Rick Leventhal and his wife, Kelly Dodd.

I’m surprised that anyone would allow it [this crisis] to happen. It’s so ridiculous that you would just let people in without knowing who they are.

They’re processed for a reason. We have laws.

Dodd, meanwhile, spoke about the scourge of cancellation culture:

Then it was time to talk to O’Keefe himself, who said it was time for folks to “be brave.” I asked him what surprised him most while making this film, and he said it was the endless grift:

All the people that are on the take, all the people that were making money off of this. All the people that were not willing to do the right thing because they wanted to benefit. I don’t know if that was surprising—but it was shocking to hear what people were saying.

I asked him if he thought the movie would change government policy or affect the ’24 presidential election.

I think that people need to be brave, and they need to step forward from within these agencies… because you have to have courage. I think it will change things. Little by little. It’s probably the biggest issue for the election, the border. I think people need to understand the nature of the problem…

I look forward to seeing people’s reactions.

Exclusive: James O’Keefe Reveals the Pain Powering His Film ‘Line in the Sand’

“Line in the Sand’ will be available to the public starting today on the Tucker Carlson Network.

My takeaway is that O’Keefe is incredibly brave and put himself into some unquestionably perilous situations while investigating the story (he rode on a migrant train in Mexico and also descended into a claustrophobia-inducing cartel tunnel, for instance). He showed the human side of the crisis and the angst of border patrol agents and illegal immigrants alike. Perhaps the most interesting thing he revealed, however, is just how much money is involved in perpetuating the problem and how many people on both sides of the boundary are benefitting from it—even as it endangers our country and causes misery for untold thousands (millions?).

Although O’Keefe didn’t get especially political in the film, the reality that he deftly portrays is one of a humanitarian disaster in large part caused by the corrupt Biden-Harris regime, aided and abetted by NGOs and others profiting from pain. I only hope this movie opens a few more eyes to what’s going on, and that American citizens are moved to head to the ballot box and make sure these two and newcomer Tim Walz are shoved aside for new leadership—leadership that isn’t corrupt, cold and uncaring.
