Grill, baby, grill.
That’s the message to British passengers from Turkish carrier Corendon Airlines, which has introduced doner kebabs to its inflight menu on UK flights to and from Turkey and Greece.
The leisure carrier says that the introduction of the ‘authentic’ Turkish snacks is in response to popular demand, following their introduction on flights from Germany earlier this month.
Corendon said: ‘The Corendon doner kebabs are made to a special Turkish recipe using top quality ingredients including beef, green peppers and tomatoes, in a tortilla wrap, and cost £9.23 (11 euros) for card payments.’
Matthew Carpenter, UK Country Manager for Corendon Airlines, commented: ‘We’re always striving to find new ways to improve our offering to our valued customers, from the service they receive on board, to the price they pay.
‘The introduction of kebabs to our in-flight menu is unique and makes perfect sense, particularly knowing how popular they are with the British public.
‘Our customers will experience a taste of Turkey before arriving at their destination.’
Corendon has also announced a Happy Flydays campaign, offering a 40 per cent discount per passenger on selected dates on all routes, for flights departing between 10 February and 31 May, 2025.
Corendon revealed that a one-way flight from London Gatwick to Antalya on June 10 with the discount applied will cost £59.81 (71 euros) per person.
The airline’s recent initiatives also include an adult-only zone, available on the carrier’s A350 flights between Amsterdam and the Dutch Caribbean islands of Curacao and Bonaire.
The zone is in the front section of the aircraft and consists of nine ‘XL’ seats, with extra legroom, and 93 standard seats, according to Corendon.
A seat reservation in the adult zone is for over-16s.
Correndon said: ‘This zone in the aircraft is intended for passengers travelling without children and for business travellers who want to work in a quiet environment.
‘We are also the first Dutch airline to introduce the Only Adult zone, because we cater to travellers looking for some extra peace of mind during their flight.’
