Inauguration day has finally arrived – and not only does it mark a new chapter for The United States, but it’s also a busy day for the world of politics, as attendees juggle tons of festivities in Washington, like the inaugural ball, luncheon and star-studded performances.
And, of course, with multiple events in one day comes multiple outfit changes – and FEMAIL has rounded up some of the best and worst looks of the day.
In the morning, the entire Trump family attended a non-partisan service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, where First Lady Melania Trump opted for a muted navy-blue look and a bold hat with white trim.
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, also donned an understated ensemble, as she arrived in an emerald-green woolen pencil skirt with a matching blazer.
She accessorized with a beret style hat in the same shade, black high heels, sheer black tights and leather gloves, carrying a stunning Dior bag on her arm, which appeared to be the Lady Dior Bag in Black Cannage Grained Calfskin with gold finishes, which retails for $5,900.
At 12pm, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of The United States; it will be his second term, as he served from 2016 to 2020.
Hours later, the new President, along with his family members and famous friends, headed to the Washington Convention Center where they celebrated in a slew of dazzling dresses.
And while some wowed in their elegant looks, others completely missed the marks with awkward ensembles and fashion fails.
Take a look at the best and worst outfits from the inauguration and the balls that followed.
