On Thursday, Health and Human Services Secretary-nominee Robert F. Kennedy sat before yet another Senate committee to answer questions, and it went about as well as expected. When Kennedy appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, he was questioned by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who went on a wild rant about whether he supported onesies with an anti-vax message on them. It was comedy gold.

Sadly, Sanders also sits on the Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) Committee, so he had a chance to dig deeper into the mystery of the onesies and other matters. Broken Record Bernie wants universal healthcare, with the rallying cry, “Health Care for All!” In Sanders’ five-minute rant on Thursday, he rambled on about how the healthcare system was corrupt and tried to box Kennedy into guaranteeing that healthcare is a human right. Kennedy pushed back on his line of questioning, exposing Sanders’ hypocrisy on the topic of corruption.

Sanders tried to pull that “small donor” and grassroots citizens schtick, but campaign finance filings don’t lie. Open Secrets shows that between 1990 and 2024, Sanders collected $1,953,613 in pharmaceutical donations. Sanders is among the Top 20 political recipients of Big Pharma’s largesse. This list includes the good “Rev-ER-Rund” Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who raked in $1,763,425 over that period while spouting about Kennedy’s conspiracy theories and Kennedy’s insults to the CDC, Warnock’s hometown bureaucracy. Let’s not forget Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who collected $1,616,081 while looking down her nose at Kennedy for his “dangerous views.”

She is up for election in two years. Washington. Start planning now to vote her out in your primary. We need to stop electing these people. We cannot tolerate people who are loyal to their corporate donors over the American people.
There are a lot of Democrats and Republicans on the pharmaceutical and corporate medicine gravy train. This X account compiled a list and brought receipts of the campaign on both the left and the right to destroy Kennedy’s nomination. The thread also included the senators (looking at you, Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden), who have been screeching at Kennedy in their committees about anti-vax, measles, onesies, and conspiracy theories while never addressing the real problem of the rising cost of healthcare which parallels increasingly sicker Americans.

Dr. Casey Means, a staunch supporter of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and his nomination to HHS secretary, wrote a long thread on X that is well worth digesting. One key point she made.
We’ve had 25 HHS Secretaries in U.S. history, of which 9 have been lawyers (including the last 2), and I would bet that 99.9% of Americans cannot even name a single prior Secretary. The reason there is so much scrutiny about RFK Jr. is because he challenges the financial interests of the status quo (Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Ag), NOT because he is a “threat” to public health (he’s not). He’s a threat to corporate interests.
The senators’ loud bleating is directly proportional to the amount of money they have received from those corporate interests. Follow the money. The senators who hold Kennedy’s fate in their hands are all compromised, and America knows it.
