Dorit Kemsley and estranged husband Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley‘s Los Angeles mansion is in pre-foreclosure after months of ‘missed payments.’
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 48, and the businessman, 57, have missed ‘more than 4 months of payments’ on the $7.5 million home, according to documents obtained by the U.S. Sun.
A notice of default was filed against the Kemsleys’ 7,100-square-foot Encino estate on October 16th.
Their failure to make multiple payments triggered the pre-foreclosure process, which means the lender has started the process of taking possession of the property.
The former pair can still save their home if they repay missed payments in a lump sum, but so far the Los Angeles County registrar confirmed that no repayment has been received, as per the publication.
It comes after the pair — whose son recently underwent an emergency surgery —announced their separation in May, and following claims they owed millions in unpaid taxes.
Other options include hiring a foreclosure attorney, filing a lawsuit, applying to the California Mortgage Relief Program, or filing for bankruptcy.
Failure to act could result in a non-judicial foreclosure, which would allow the lender to seize the property without court intervention.
The couple purchased the sprawling six-bedroom, seven-bathroom Encino mansion — where they’ve been living with son Jagger, 10, and daughter Phoenix, eight — for $6.5 million in 2019.
The modern farmhouse boasts a gourmet kitchen, movie theater, pool and basketball court.
In April it was reported that PK moved out of their Los Angeles house and was staying at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel alone, amid their marriage woes.
Two years after they moved into the home the pair suffered a terrifying burglary.
Dorit was held at gunpoint and robbed during a 2021 home invasion while her children, then ages 7 and 5, were in the house. PK was abroad at the time of the attack.
The intruders ransacked the house for about 20 minutes, stealing all of Kemsley’s jewelry and handbags.
They did not enter the bedrooms belonging to her children and no one was injured during the incident.
The couple have been reportedly dealing with money woes. In 2021 the Sun reported that they owed more than $1.3 million combined in unpaid taxes dating back to 2015.
In 2023 a certificate of release of her federal lien was filed, clearing her debt from her and PK’s taxes from 2015.
However she has reportedly not yet paid debt from her 2017 and 2018 taxes, as per the Sun, with a tax lien filed in 2021 showing an outstanding balance of $90,269 due to the IRS.
Meanwhile PK owes a combined total of $986,887 in taxes.
The English businessman owed $230,965 from his 2014 taxes and $58,458 from his 2016 taxes to the Internal Revenue Service as of 2023.
He also owes $293,222 from his 2014 and 2015 taxes and $404,242 from his 2016 taxes to the state of California.
Dorit and PK announced their separation in May after nine years of marriage.
She wrote they are taking ‘some time part’ to ‘reevaluate’ their relationship in a statement posted to her Instagram.
‘We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage. We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together.
‘To safe guard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children.
‘We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey. With love, Dorit and PK.’
The pair have been married since 2015.
This week, Dorit’s RHOBH costar Kyle Richards tried to shut down rumors that she and Dorit had been feuding over their alleged interest in each other’s estranged spouses.
She made it clear that, though she did swap messages with PK — who split from Dorit in May — she didn’t think of him ‘like a brother,’ but rather as ‘one of the girls,’ she told Extra TV.
‘He will admit that himself,’ she added with a laugh, before confirming that she was not attracted to PK.
She also clarified that any drama between her and Dorit was not due to rumors that Dorit had her eye on her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky.
