Hollywood’s finest turned out for the greatest show in Tinseltown Saturday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers took on the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series.
Just like Friday’s curtain raiser, the A-Listers headlined the crowd at Dodger Stadium to watch two titans of MLB go head to head.
New Zealand director Taika Waititi and wife Rita Ora enjoyed a Dodgers date night with actor Jon Hamm and his wife Anna Osceola.
The four couples were captured soaking up the action from front row seats and despite their friendly trip to the ballpark, there appeared to be a rivalry brewing.
The Jojo Rabbit filmmaker was decked head to toe in Dodgers merchandise, making it clear that his loyalties lay with the hosts, but Osceola donned a navy Yankees cap.
Ora and Hamm declared for neither team with the songstress opting for a sporting chic look in a red sweatshirt and cap, while the Mad Men star kept it understated in a brown jacket and teal hat.
Hamm was spotted chatting with Jeffrey Katzenberg, the former chairman of Walt Disney Studios, as baseball’s biggest stars took to the plate.
Jason Bateman, who also witnessed the Dodgers take down the Yankees in ten innings in Game 1 Friday night, returned for more action Saturday.
Meanwhile, MLB fans were treated to an opening performance from hometown rapper Ice Cube ahead of the Game 2 showdown.
The Los Angeles native graced the field at Dodger Stadium ahead of Game 2, and wore a Dodgers hat and jacket as he performed his hit ‘Today Was a Good Day.’
He was later seen cheering on Shohei Ohtani and Co. from the stands in the City of Angels.
Their attendances continued a series of blockbuster appearances from Hollywood’s stars after a number of high-profile A-Listers turned out for Game 1.
The Yankees and Dodgers kicked off the World Series on Friday night in Los Angeles , and a host of celebrities – including Jimmy Kimmel and John Legend – were in attendance to watch Game 1 of the Fall Classic.
Kimmel was seen sitting alongside Jim Gentleman and Cleto Escobedo III, and the late-night host was all smiles from his seat behind the Yankees dugout.
Nearby were also actors Billy Crudup and Jason Bateman , as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea. Actor Will Arnett was also in attendance.
Singer John Legend was also seen in the stands with his children, while fellow recording artist Lil Wayne could also be seen taking in the game.
Additionally, country singer Brad Paisley started off the night by singing the national anthem, while ‘ Breaking Bad ‘ actor Bryan Cranston also addressed the crowd prior to the game.
Game 2 comes after a truly wild Game 1 in which the Dodgers won via a Freddie Freeman walk-off grand slam.
The game headed to extra innings and, with a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the tenth, Yankees manager Aaron Boone turned to Jake Cousins.
However, with the Dodgers having first and second with one out, he then brought in Nestor Cortes to face the high-pressure trio of Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freeman.
The Yankees intentionally walked Betts, bringing Freeman up to the plate when Cortes gave up the walkoff grand slam.
Boone’s decision to call on Cortes, who hadn’t pitched since September 18, left baffled Yankees fans fuming.
The Dodgers, who were last champions in 2021, will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) are played in New York.
