Scary scenes at Ole Miss football game as medics rush to the aid of the team doctor after sideline collapse

The game between Ole Miss and Oklahoma had to be paused on Saturday after a medical emergency on the sidelines.

The Rebels led 26-14 with 11 and a half minutes left of the fourth quarter when the action stopped and television cameras panned away from the field.

It soon emerged that a doctor on the Ole Miss staff had collapsed. In frightening scenes, EMS rushed across the field to treat him.

According to ESPN, the doctor never lost consciousness and he was seen heading down the tunnel a few minutes later.

The staffer had to be helped off the field towards an ambulance which was waiting for him.

During the delay, the Ole Miss team gathered on one knee to pray for the medic, who was believed to be Dr. Kurre Luber.

A few minutes later, however, Lane Kiffin’s players were back on the field as they chased a sixth victory of the season.

According to the Oxford Surgery Center, Luber serves as ‘Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist’ for teams at the University of Mississippi.

He treats students-athletes of all sports and performs ‘minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints’.
