Shoppers go wild over an unlikely $29 item from Supercheap Auto: ‘It’s the best thing they’ve ever stocked’

Aussie beauty fans are heading to Supercheap Auto stores en mass to get their hands on the latest makeup must-have.

The trend, which defies odds given the store is typically for car enthusiasts, kicked off after a young woman posted a video showing off the store’s toolbox range.

Pink toolboxes, they claimed, are perfect for storing makeup and beauty tools.

The $29.99 toolboxes are released around Christmas time every year – but this is the first year someone’s offered a different suggestion on how it could be used.

‘Girlies don’t walk, run into Supercheap,’ the shopper raved.

And it appeared to drum up a sense of urgency among her followers and thousands of others who saw the video.

‘I dragged my hubs to Supercheap for these. Now I have to wait until Christmas,’ another woman said.

‘I want every colour. But have to settle for red at the moment,’ said another.

‘Whoopsies, just bought two,’ said another.

But the viral video only fuelled the excitement and customers confirmed the pink had sold out locally.

‘Please no I work at supercheap and we have none left,’ one woman pleaded.

‘I just called and a spoke to a girl that was like “girl, listen, they gone in pink, worst case wrap a black one,’ another said.

But due to the popularity, many were happy to wait for a restock.

‘Tell them TikTok is ready, and have cash,’ one woman said.

‘Agreed. I don’t need it now but I do need it,’ said another.

The toolboxes also come with a two-drawer top set, like the original size ToolPro sets, these are $24.99.

The tool box has sold out in many stores across Australia

Those keen on the toolboxes said the young woman should put a mirror on the top piece which lifts up to reveal the top drawer.

The small tool boxes are 23cm wide, 13cm deep and 26cm tall making them perfect for a vanity.

But some people said they would use them for tools.

‘I want one for my workshop,’ one woman said.

‘Same like I would put actual tools in them,’ said another.

Others said the company should ‘take a hint’ after the boxes were sold out ‘instantly’.

‘We want normal sized pink tool boxes and pink tools too,’ one woman said.

‘I am shocked they don’t have large pink toolboxes – People come to me to get theirs painted pink all the time,’ said another.

The video – which showed the young woman unboxing her mini tool box – has been seen over 2.9million times.
