Kmart Australia shoppers have discovered a little-known bargain buy to spruce up your kitchen ahead of summer.
The 9L water filter dispenser ($39) has been dubbed a ‘must have’ for every household.
It is a bargain alternative to other similar sized water filter jugs that can cost up to $300.
You can place the Kmart buy in your fridge and its family-friendly size ensures there’s enough chilled drinking water for everyone.
‘I love the size, putting it together it was easy, and doesn’t drip at all,’ Brisbane mum Dina Santos said online.
The filter cannot get rid of fluoride but reduces impurities in tap water and improves taste, smell, and clarity – providing Aussies with an economical alternative to bottled water.
‘This is an amazing sized dispenser and we are very happy with it,’ Dina said. ‘We can definitely taste the difference with our water.’
‘Great option for those of us who don’t have a fancy water-dispensing fridge,’ a woman said. ‘We go through so many bottled water packs a week – maybe I should invest.’
‘I need one of these,’ another wrote. ‘I love the size. I’ve been wanting to filter our water again but the Brita jug is too small.’

Dina shared that she uses Australian brand Brita’s filters in the Kmart dispenser.
However, some shoppers were displeased with the product being plastic.
‘The vessel should be glass,’ one said.
‘Great little unit but unfortunately not getting rid of the fluoride is a major flaw,’ another added.
