Saying Jennifer Rubin wrote something stupid is in some ways like a dog bites man story, but there are times when it really needs to be called out and spotlighted just to further demonstrate how far off a cliff these NeverTrump sellouts have gone.

The “conservative” Washington Post columnist, as RedState readers know, has turned both grifting and groveling for approval among the Beltway Smart Set into an art form since 2016 or so, throwing her lot in with those who said the Republican Party needed to be destroyed in order to save it from Donald Trump.
Among other things, she’s “conserved conservatism” by supporting pro-abortion Democrats, praising Joe Biden’s dismal economic record as “unmatched,” and even went so far as to gush over disgraced then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) handling of the COVID pandemic, tweeting “Watching Andrew Cuomo is inspiring, uplifting, fascinating. He weaves details and humor and math and common sense all together. He is magnificent. Let’s just listen to him.”

Not surprisingly, like many on the left and in NeverTrump World, Ms. Rubin is taking Trump’s Election Day victory over Kamala Harris especially hard, so much so that she went over the edge in tweets she wrote reacting to the Democrat Civil War over messaging and how best to win back some of the voters they lost Tuesday.

Here’s what she wrote on the Twitter/X machine:
The idea we have to understand how or why Trump won to prepare to fight him is a category error.
It is 1933. Hitler is in power. No time for a f**king seminar on Democrats messaging errors
For context, right about the time Rubin was composing those tweets, Jews were being viciously hunted down and beaten in the streets of Amsterdam by antisemitic mobs.
Understandably, her remarks did not go over well at all with conservative writer/commentator John Podhoretz who, like Rubin, is Jewish:
There’s a pogrom going on in Amsterdam right now. Hitler is in Amsterdam, not here. Hitler is in Iran, not here. I am sickened by you, Jen. Rachel would despise what you have become, and the fact I had anything to do with your having a career is one of the shames of my life. https://t.co/aXf24iDw6i

Others spotted an insurrectiony tone in Rubin’s remarks:
So if you believe this are you willing to peacefully transfer power to Hitler or are calling for an insurrection and violence?

What exactly is the logical extensions of this? She’s going to start a violent resistance to overthrow “Hitler”? https://t.co/3k1Yzu8kdo

Interestingly, Rubin had a moment of sanity the day after the election, writing about how folks should stop obsessing over polls and punditry and actually get out and talk to people:
obsessively doom scrolling, getting upset about stupid punditry and fixating on polls did not stop the unimaginable. stop doing all those things. talk to neighbors, run for a local office and hold electeds accountable. Frankly, less is more. read more and learn more. reclaim sanity.
Hmm. Now if only she’d take her own advice.
