  • Match against locals became heated very early on
  • Wilder and opposition player’s melee spilled into the crowd

A social media star known for getting in hot water on the basketball court almost bit off more than he could chew after a match descended into violence on a Sydney court.

Cam Wilder is a former college basketball player turned social media star, known for his viral basketball content and comedic sketches.

He has amassed over 6 million followers on TikTok and more than 1 million on Instagram, leveraging his skills to engage a massive online audience.

Wilder gained popularity during the Covid pandemic by posting entertaining basketball videos, leading to viral success and large-scale “park takeovers” where he plays with fans.

These events, where Wilder invites local players and fans to join him for impromptu basketball games, have become a hallmark of his social media presence.

However a recent park takeover in Australia has gone horribly wrong, escalating into violence as thousands of angry teens descended on the social media star.

The basketball match quickly turned violent as the players pushed and shoved their way into the crowd

During the Sydney takeover, an on-court altercation occurred, which Wilder later addressed in a YouTube video titled “I GOT INTO A FIGHT AT MY TAKEOVER IN AUSTRALIA!”

In the video, thousands of young Australians are flanking the court as Wilder and teammates took on some lucky locals.

However things became heated between the opposing players and one of the Aussie ballers heavily shoved Wilder’s teammate.

That caused Wilder to come flying in to protect his teammate, sending the crowd into hysterics as they swamped the fracas.

‘Bruh, he ran up behind that [teammate] and pushed him,’ Wilder said on YouTube.

‘A random a** [crowd member] came up on me and tried to punch me in the neck.

‘I don’t know what happened, I was moving crazy.

‘I saw him smiling and s***, I was tweaking. I was tripping. I wanted to punch that [player] back.’

Eventually the situation was brought under control and the game was able to resume.

Wilder’s followers praised him for sticking up for his teammate.

‘This is incredible, go on with this fantastic effort,’ one commented.

‘Cam came out of nowhere when he pushed that guy,’ added another.

‘Cam casually dropping a fire vid in a different country,’ posted yet another.

Wilder has a track record of getting involved in violence in his videos.

In other videos posted to YouTube, he shows teammates getting involved in fights with other players, a tournament director and even a coach who he claims tried to fight his parents.

‘One of the most intense games we have ever played on this channel,’ he described the video on YouTube.

‘I hope you guys enjoy.’
