Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left ‘feeling sick’ at a particular moment in Saturday night’s show.

The BBC Latin and ballroom show has just made it into its second week of its 20th anniversary year, and things seemed to be going swimmingly until judge Craig Revel Horwood made a certain comment.

Just before Love Island‘s Tasha Ghouri and her professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec to perform their Viennese Waltz,  Craig chatted with host Tess Daly about the pair’s previous dance.

Tess said: ‘There’s only really one way to describe our social media star, isn’t there, Craig?’

Craig replied: ‘Skibidi rizz, darling. Ski-bi-di rizz!’

According to Urban Dictionary, the phrase is the ‘is the second-highest level of Rizz’, a Gen-Z diminutive version of the word ‘charisma’.

Other definitions include the ‘charisma displayed by a male to a female’ at the start of a conversation, whilst the whole term seems to just be a nonsense joke.

But viewers were not impressed with the show’s apparent attempt to appeal to younger members of their audience as they flooded social media with reactions.

One viewer wrote on X/Twitter:  ‘This is the worst thing the show has ever done. Gen Z just turned to dust.#scd #strictly’

Another fumed: ‘my poor gran loves strictly but she’s sick and has enough to contend with without having to hear tess daley say skibidi rizz’ (sic)

A third dramatically declared: ‘craig saying skibidi rizz on strictly is the worst thing to happen the this society’ (sic)

A fourth said: ‘First we got demure, now we got skibidi rizz… What the f***is going on with strictly? This is literally them rn’

Once the moment had passed, Tasha left her father Tarek in tears as she topped the leader board and made history after scoring the highest ever for a Viennese waltz.

Anton Du Beke gushed that he ‘couldn’t find anything bad’ in the performance, while Motsi Mabuse agreed: ‘That was the best dance of the night! I absolutely loved it!’.

Tasha’s father who was sat in the audience appeared visibly emotional as his daughter also struggled to choke back tears following the feedback.

When preparing to hear their scores host Claudia Winkleman said: ‘What made it more emotional was watching your dad, sobbing, watching you’.
