It was a study in contrasts Monday at the Capitol as Donald Trump was sworn into his second stint as President of the United States. There was so much ceremony, pomp, and circumstance, and it was a moving day to watch as you realized you were watching history in the making. Melania Trump personified dignity and grace with her stylish hat, Usha Vance was positively radiant, and their smiles throughout the day and evening were dazzling. They are quite simply beautiful and impressive women, no matter what side of the aisle you’re on.

The new president’s offspring also showed a dignity that has been lacking in the era of Hunter Biden:

But there was another participant in the affair that caused a stir for different reasons—she embodied the stuffed-lip, hyper-sexualized female that has become the norm in the TikTok, OnlyFans, and Kardashian era. Her name is Lauren Sánchez, and she is the fiancée of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Although I give her points for being a helicopter pilot, I think she demeaned herself and women in general by showing up with her assets a flauntin’. At this point, she looks like a balloon, she’s so pumped up.
Melania exemplifies notions that are all but dead among women: feminine mystique & allure.
These have been confused with slutty.
They aren’t the same.

Since her midlife hook-up with bald Bezos – who proposed to her aboard his $500 million superyacht in May 2023 – Sanchez has seemed nothing less than a Kardashian-inspired pretender.
Her love of the limelight and often crass, plastic posturing reeks of pure desperado even by the standards of the ‘look at me’ luxe world she inhabits.
It’s not just about her wardrobe but her actions, too. Predictably, her arrival on Monday was drawn out for maximum exposure. As she stood at the top of the steps outside the Capitol, she swivelled around like a meercat on steroids – perhaps checking the paparazzi had caught each and every angle and inch.
And why is nobody talking about Jeff?
Clearly his Emmy Award-winning fiancée lacks the better judgement to tidy it up for a once-in-a-lifetime historic event – but has Bezos no shame either? It leaves one to conclude that he too luxuriates in lauding these tarty displays – showing off his prized, perma-pumped possession.
It’s an ugly look for them both – and a lesson for everyone that, if you can’t summon some self-respect, sometimes it’s better not to turn up at all.

This may seem like unimportant stuff, but as a father to three lovely daughters, I take it seriously. The message that the Kardashian clan and Sanchez bring is that women need to inject, inject, inject, puff up, and show all their wares to be seen as beautiful when the reality is quite the opposite. Usha Vance and Melania Trump showed a level of class and dignity that’s been sorely missing (again, see: Hunter Biden), but Sanchez showed a crass “look at me” sexuality that has no place in the Capitol Rotunda.
