The Dancing Tree of Wisdom is royalty on The Wiggles and has become an internet sensation, but he is also a little-known nepotism baby.
The man behind the costume, Dominic Field, has become an unlikely viral star on the internet for his now-famous dance moves and he has earned whole legions of fans.
However, he left many fans shocked as he revealed his little-known family connections to The Wiggles franchise during a TV appearance on Friday.
Dominic appeared in character on Channel Seven‘s The Morning Show and told how his father was the long term managing director of the famed children’s group.
In another very unexpected link, his uncle is also the original Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field.
Dominic is not Anthony’s only family connection in The Wiggles as his daughter Lucia Field is also a singer on the TV show and performs as Blue Wiggle like her father.
Dominic has now revealed what it was like like growing up around the famed children’s group before joining it himself.
‘Music was always a part of our family,’ he said on The Morning Show.
‘Every Christmas and family get-together was a performance for our grandma really.
‘We all have to sing. My sister has to do Irish dancing. We all have our roles.’
Dominic is the son of Paul Field, former lead singer of 80s pop group The Cockroaches and long-time managing director of the Wiggles, who first formed in 1991.
The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur asked Dominic if he always had aspirations to join The Wiggles or whether he grew tired of his father’s involvement when he was younger.
To which Dominic replied: ‘No, it’s always been such a cool part of my life, you know? I was always “The Wiggles guy” to all my mates at school.’
Dominic first joined The Wiggles as a crew member 10 years ago before he became a cult fan favourite among fans as The Tree of Wisdom.
His character is a singing and dancing shrub and was introduced on the children’s TV show in 2023.

Dominic revealed the Tree of Wisdom has become so iconic that many fans have found unique ways to express their appreciation.
‘It’s so funny. People have started coming to the shows dressed as the tree,’ he told The Sydney Morning Herald last November.
‘We’ve been joking it looks like I’m dressing up as them because they have a better costume.’
The character is just as popular with parents as with children, with many adults taking to social media to praise Dominic for ‘slaying it’ at the live shows.
‘Your moves are next level!!! Us as parents absolutely LOVE what you bring to The Wiggles. Keep it up!’ one mother gushed.
‘Tree of Wisdom goes so fkn hard,’ a second person wrote.
‘My favourite part of the show,’ a third person chipped in and a fourth added: ‘The tree dancing was absolutely a joy to watch.’
In another connection to the franchise, Dominic also married fellow Wiggles dancer Stephanie Di Coio in October 2023.
The entertainers hosted a ceremony at a church as they exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, before guests let their hair down at the wild reception.
In several videos from their fun celebration shared to Instagram at the time, Stephanie could be seen dancing up a storm after saying ‘I do’ at the altar.
Surrounded by screaming guests, Stephanie and Dominic were both wearing sunglasses inside their reception venue as they jumped around the dance floor.
Dropping low to the ground every chance she got, Stephanie grabbed the skirts of her gorgeous but simple white gown and twirled them around.
At one point, the DJ played the classic Greased Lightnin’ by John Travolta as the lovebirds danced on one another in a circle of their closest friends.
The couple announced their engagement in January 2022, sharing an image of themselves to Instagram as they cuddled up after Dominic popped the question.
