Thousands of brand-new toys will be auctioned from just $1 days just before Christmas as a major toy retailer exits the Australian market.
KidKraft will be auctioning off $800,000 worth of leftover toys and furniture after announcing that all of its warehouses will close.
The retailer said ‘everything must go’ when the auction starts at 2pm AEST on Sunday with customers to be given access to an online portal.
Prices will begin at $1 and there will be no back-up stock or reserves.
Lloyds Auctions will manage the online fire sale which will include separate auctions for the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
The full list of items can be viewed on Lloyd’s Auctions’ website.
‘LLOYDS AUCTIONS IS UNDER STRICT INSTRUCTIONS TO SELL EVERYTHING IN THE SHOWROOM AND IN THE WAREHOUSE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE,’ it states.
The clearance auction will include thousands of brand-new items including premium play sets, doll houses and a range of other toys perfect for Christmas gifts.
Lloyds Auctions boss Lee Hames said the auction was a ‘one-off opportunity’.
‘All items are brand-new and perfect for last-minute Christmas gifts,’ Mr Hames said.
‘There are more than 4,200 premium items going under the hammer, providing families the chance to own these products at a fraction of the retail price.’
All items will be brand new and still sealed in their original boxes as the toymaker looks to wind down its operations after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May.
Any lucky parents who are able to snag a bargain can pick up their items from Lloyds locations in Melbourne, Sydney, and southeast Queensland.
KidKraft was founded in the US in 1968 and since then has grown a reputation for its toys, play kitchens, dollhouses, and outdoor playsets.
